I understand that most believe that their IP is "the holy chalice", where "it is their refuge": That is an absolute fallacy.
For a village hacker, who doesn't even call himself a "hacker" or anything like that, to get an IP, it's not like it's going to be in a moment, but it's possible... (Even within this chat...)
Obviously, I respect opinions, but I don't like the topic of "is that if I do my IP, the CIA and the FBI, they are going to get me..." 😀

@abad, I try to be "understanding" with your comments since English isn't your first language and things are always lost in translation, but you absolutely are being insulting with the tone of your replies. You asked for thoughts on your idea, people responded then you proceeded to (intentionally perhaps?) misinterpret their replies and insult them because they disagree with you.

Case in point: No-one mentioned the FBI or law enforcement, just that a list of IP addresses potentially accessible to the vendors might not be such a good idea. That's because it would be trivial for them to compare those IP addresses against their own server logs and ban matching accounts or potentially take legal action.

If you want constructive conversation, try moderating your replies. You'll catch more flies with honey than with sh*t.

Is difficult to try and get half a dozen people here to pitch in $$ and get a $50 item on DA. Some people wont even post content but give it to the mods to post because they are paranoid. I don't see any project involving more than a handful of people you've "known" for an extend amount of time getting involved.

Ive little knowledge of most computer "stuff" outside of a little more than the average old guy and less than most teen today. So I wouldn't feel comfortable linking my system into something the community could use.
Ive visited sites that seem to unwillingly farm my system and its not something I enjoy.

My native language is Catalan, but I have to "translate" it to Castilian Spanish, although both are from the country... and then, adapt "my thoughts" to be as easy to interpret in an online translator like Google translator or DeepL... to English...
I know that I am very ironic, of a "black" humor (I mean a cynical type of humor, not in the sense of racist. "humour noir" in French...)
I will try to be "politically correct"...

Hey Abad, you seem to have mad (great) skills. It would be cool if you could create a script or something to prevent daz from creating an icon for saved renders. It sucks having that, scrolling through the render library you get flashes at night with the white background surrounding the icon and if you delete the icons daz recreates them. Having the images displayed by date puts all those recreated icons above the actual renders. I remember other members said they have an interest in that too.

I've never had good results with Google or DeepL translation when it comes to complex ideas. Stuff always gets messed up. Funnily enough, I had to use Google translate for a few years while working with some Castilian-Spanish girls and it caused a few laughs with it's translations, changing 'I'm on it.' to 'I'm in him' for example...

Have you tried using the AI chatbots for translations? They seem to parse natural languages quite well.

@SkippyTheMeh , As I said before, I will try to be "more explicit" in my thoughts. In Spain there are 5 "official" languages spoken: Castilian (The tipical "Spanish" in some countries, like South America..), Catalan/Valencian, Basque, Bable and Galician (Closer to Portuguese..).
Next time, I'll write in Esperanto! LOL

I don't really understand your question... Can you post an image, what do you mean?

It's unrelated to the iray server, it's just a Daz function, when it saves a render it also makes a thumbnail of the render.

@cage, I was also annoyed by these preview files. For myself, I found such a solution: in daz studio itself, close and never open the "Render Library" window. Create a link to the "Render Library" folder on the desktop. Delete all preview files.

@cage, I don't know if you mean this "big" image that jumps when you mouse-over... Normally, it saves them as "xxx.tips.png". You can delete them all, or you can uncheck this box in "edit/preferences/content..".

I think Cage means the XXX_icon.png files that Daz creates every time you view your render library inside Daz.

Back when I used Daz for rendering, I had a little batch file that just deleted anything named *icon.png in my Render Library folder and subfolders. I had it set to run on Windows startup as I never used the built-in render library and the _icon files where just cluttering up my folders.

Something like

del /s "c:\path\to\your\Render Library\*icon.png"

should work.

Without the lines, and save as, "delTempDaz.vbs" (as a example.., but the extension .vbs is mandatory) in the desktop..., or add to task scheduler.. Then, click over the script. JUST EDIT THE LINE - Const oSrc = "C:\Users\usuario\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\temp"- FROM "usuario" and change for your name/user...
