I don't think we've reached that stage Ethiopia and the Announcement thread is not easy to find if you don't know your way around. I notice warrant is now deleting posts in the General Chat about not getting points which I don't blame him for.... might encourage some to do their homework.
Good to see they're being deleted now, what will really make users do their homework is to take away points.

Exactly! Those in debt must do something to benefit the Zone, they can't get out of debt by things like the daily points as it won't apply to those in debt.
In other words, they become slaves to the Zone. 😀
Everyone on this site started with nothing. Granted; the daily points was helpful in the beginning. But the entire purpose of a sharing site is to actually buy and share items; especially the requested assets - it's how I've made the majority of my points - not by logging in daily.
Funny how the voices who are complaining the loudest are those who've joined only to farm points or those who haven't - or barely - shared anything.
Change happens. It's a reality of life; you either embrace the change, or quite whingeing and go elsewhere. Preferably to those sites which ''are better''. But, know this; those sites wouldn't exist if it were not for people who take the assets from here and upload them over there. Those sites will dry up eventually, to a degree - unless of course their users decide to buy assets as opposed to leeching - if the leechers can no longer take advantage of the generosity of members here.
You don't have to buy a massively expensive asset or bundle to gain a bounty from a request. Some people offer a lot for items less than twenty dollars. Surely most people can afford to spend that - if not once a week - then once a month. Also, try creating custom content or conversions - conversions are often in demand here.
I just wish we could draw a line under this drama and incessant complaining and look to the future and try to work together to improve the site. And, that's the final word I'll say on any of this.Ahh! That explains why I haven't seen the daily points popping up.
Are you still giving points for friends? That's an easy loophole to abuse.
I'm not sure increasing new member points is a good idea though as it seems to encourage those not caring about the community to just make multiple accounts and swap points to download more without posting.
As for point expiration, a lot of places I frequent not related to this require regular activity or reduce your points by x% after a certain time.
No idea if that could be easily implemented or not here.
So something like: No posts in the last month, 20% of points lost.
or whatever parameters you think are valid.
Anyway, Cheers and keep up the good work.Now that the free points have stopped flowing I would suggest folks with few points to pool up. Need an asset that costs 50 points to access? Just form a group of around 10 folks in some private discord, commit 5 points each, once you reach a commitment of 50 points, get one member from the group to get the asset from this zone and distribute it to others. Similarly, if you need to place a request with minimum 500 points? Make a larger pool. Once you pool your points inventory your collective points would give you a much much higher mileage than spending alone.
Since all these happens in your closed community, it won't be easy to figure out that its happening in the first place, even harder to identify all who participated.
Or maybe just post in the forums and say "hey I'm new and want this X item
Can you help me?"
BTW Sandeep, that suggestion is a method of rorting the system which is what the Admins are trying to avoid.
But I get your point, anyone who wants to leech will find a way.
All the Admins can do is try to make it as difficult as possible without impacting the regulars too much.

Everyone that has low points (You know, the leeches & those that don't contribute to the site to receive points in the first place.) All pool together their resources (Something they don't have much of, because they don't contribute.) And then share the item they pooled together their resources for (You know, because they couldn't share in the first place. Hence why they don't have much points.)
A task that sounds like it requires:
1.) Organizing effort (Something the leeches can't achieve because the max amount of effort they do is click the login button.)
2.) Usage of a finite resource (Something nearly everyone at level one complained about not having in real life. So they're somehow willing trust other leeches to pool their resources to obtain one item they all collectively agree to exchange points for and give to another leech.)
3.) Trust (see #2)
It sounds like a plan for the non-participants! It's a trend that happens in the real world. Those that don't participate in a system tend to complain about the system when it changes and end up having to find alternate means of gaining while still using the system they didn't participate in. Which then stems into new other external non-enforceable issues.(Because Mods have no control of what users say or do outside of ZoneGFX. Therefor cannot enforce much.)
Well, if they up front ask, surely that's better than trying to somehow get around the site rules.

Well, the idea of pooling points to get items from this Zone is not my original. I have just borrowed the concepts of Investment Club (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/investmentclub.asp) and applied them in this context. In simple terms, say someone wants to buy shares of a Blue Chip company that costs several thousand dollars each and the shares cannot be traded in fractions unlike cryptocurrencies. So, the only option for those folks is to pool together with like minded individuals and buy a few shares collectively.
Since this is already prevalent in the industry in another form and is considered legal, I do not see this as an unfair practice. One may still argue that people leeching with their free daily points without contributing is unfair, but now there are no free points. Now people need to share to earn points and they are free to spend them in whatever manner to maximize their returns. But people still have to share to earn the points for pooling.
Even if anyone from this site has issues over this practice, people can use DMs on other forums like f95zone to gather their own private "Investment Pool" communities. I would be surprised if this isn't happening already.
