seriously man why make us regular users suffer cause of some bot accounts?

some people are poor and can't afford to Constantly donate

and without daily points can't do anything anymore

also it'd be nice if you'd increase the points we'd get for sharing something then. only 25 points for each sale + only 10 for making a post.

Meanwhile making a request costs you 500 points. Which costs way too much points if we're only gonna get that few points from now on.

this just isn't fun at all this way.

Haha, not that much. I just started thinking about it while driving, it is an interesting problem by itself and, as a relatively new user, I have a personal interest in the matter. Just trying to be constructive, but if you think this all is nothing but mental gimnastics to argue against the adopted measures I'll just shut up. I don´t like them, but I know my place.

    Regards,

if that's the attitude of the majority of sharers, then let's just move to a completely private sharing site and be done with it. Only those who contribute get access to the items shared here.

I feel that @kelsie332, said it best.
I'm all for keeping the current system, and lets dump those who haven't contributed anything and start fresh.

I was wondering why I wasn't getting my daily points.
I liked this site. I have about 12k in points just from checking the site daily. I'm not a big down loader so I've been amassing points. I just don't want to download a bunch of stuff just to put my points to use before losing them.
I agree with other users that say it's not worth coming to the site daily.
And if my point are going to expire, It's like getting cheated if not punished for customer loyalty. (said the pirate).

I had to add a new profile picture and got 100 points. I don't know if I'll get daily points. Salut a vous tous depuis le France.

removal of points for logging in, is a death move. Can't see the site remaining used much longer. Sad

That's why I was wondering about my free points missing everytime I log in. Well this signifies the end of an era and (hopefully not) the beginning of the end of such a good site.

I know people are only trying to help and we're being asked for suggestions but can we please keep it simple. Quite a few here don't even understand (or haven't read) the few changes admin is proposing.

Again: what really is needed here, is some bot account detection and termination countermeasure. when there are mosquitoes in your room at night, you use a bug zapper light, not ten gallons of napalm. Unless the plan is to burn the house down, which is extremely unlikely in the present case.
An edit: it just hit me but... there is a terrible irony in the current situation. We just entered, in some odd way, into a Denuvo situation. Bear with me for a sec:
The video game industry has long been trying to fight off piracy by introducing such horrors as Starforce, Denuvo, etc. These countermeasures didn't stop piracy at all. What they did, however, was to damage dvd drives (Starforce) and lower the performances of the gamers' rigs in very noticeable ways (Denuvo). The game hackers still hacked. In the end, only the paying customer had to suffer from the anti-piracy software side effects. The "ruffians" are still doing well, playing for free, with no ill effects.
That's where the irony comes in play. We are pirates. There is no denying it and we have no moral high ground there. And now, someone is "pirating the pirates". Applying carpet bombing countermeasure simply punishes everyone with small means and I am sure the "farmers" will find some other way to screw the system over.

Actually... wait a minute. Let's wear the "paranoid" shirt for a moment. Say you're the 3d/daz industry. You've tried DMCA takedowns, you've marked your products to try and root out sharers and well, none of it worked. How do you beat the enemy then? Well, you do your best to crash their ecosystem. You mess up their economy, you create dissentions and disagreements and just wait for the whole thing to implode. Mommy, even if I am being paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not after me.

That “don’t steal my stolen stuff” discussion is indeed kind off funny.

And on top of it, every other post in the discussion tells us that this is the elite sharing site - “leechers be gone from our select circle” - but the same people claim that every other site sucks. So, what do you think will happen? Every leecher is stopping just because you say so? Sure. Either they find a way to get access to zone as you are finding ways to share stuff even if Daz & co. try to stop you. Or other sites are not worse than this one and people are just migrating to where the access is easier. In the end, you have nothing to win.

And another thing: There has still been no explanation where the points are supposed to come from now that the login bonus is gone.

What fills the collective pool of points (the sum of points on all user accounts)?

We have a constant drain in for of the 50% tax on “buying” access to blog posts.

We have an infrequent inflow with sign up bonus, an even more infrequent bonus with the referral links, the points bought for money (probably a rather limited amount) and the 10 points for a blog post.

With the login bonus, we had a significant inflow … for 5000 people logging in every day, it would have been 500k points every day. Is that really compensated with the remaining sources? Personally, I doubt it. In a few weeks, months or maybe a year, the pool will likely run dry. People will offer less points for posts, people will have less points to “buy” posts and request items. The whole system will crash.

@qq1aa, "those people" will probably just continue to share privately and not sweat it too much. Go to one of those other "great sites" and make a request. Other than F95, none of them even offer a request option. F95 requests usually get filled (if at all) with private shares not made available to the rest of the user population.

No one begrudges PA's for not wanting their creations ripped off. Why do leechers believe that people who actually spend their money to buy content for this site have no right to complain about those leechers ripping them off by posting what they buy to the blog after being asked not to (stealing points from the sharer) or harvesting points through multiple accounts to get everything and then posting it on their own sites for profit (either through ad money or actual membership fees)?

No my friend, zone is a rare gem in the sea of sharing sites. Let us all work to make it better. And let us also be honest that, in the scheme of things here at the zone, leeches have the least to complain about, no? You have two posts in your history. Both on this thread. What else are you doing to make Zone better?

Understand change is always inevitable; however I also feel more points should be awarded or a less tax% on our posted items for those that only receive points from posted items with the removal of daily points... :/

The whiners and leeches get funnier and more pathetic as the days go on. Why don't we limit posts in the forums to persons who have posted items or made some other real contribution to TZ (The Zone)?
