Okay, so far I've run across TWO dead posts today. Since the site is no longer giving us points simply for logging in, there NEEDS to be a system whereby someone who pays for a DEAD POST either gets a refund of their points OR they don't pay at all. OR, the person who reports it gets their points refunded automatically.
WHY do we not have a system to deal with this? This wasn't a big deal when we all got 100 points a day for checking in, but that is no longer the case. THERE NEEDS TO BE A CHANGE, because it is FRUSTRATING to pay points and get NOTHING back -- and when I contact the authors of the post, 99% of the time, there is NO RESPONSE.
What is being done about this, if anything?
@kayma - we also have a problem with false dead link reports which should be addressed and treated seriously with a warning and big fine/banning. Automatic refunds might lead to more false reports unless admin checks each link before refund. I'm not sure they have the manpower to do that.
We don't have a system to deal with this because we only have three mods and they're working desperately to fix what we DO have here. This has been going on for a few weeks now.
Instead of complaining and demanding stuff, volunteer to help make the changes and take the load off of Warrant63.

@Ethiopia You seriously need to chill. I been seeing you constantly raging on people. Why not being a moderator and helping them yourself if you are very eager about it?
Complaining is easier than doing something. Its like the people that say I'll pray for you rather than giving money or physical helping. Its the least effort with the payoff of making you feel better about yourself. I think we are all guilty of it at some point. Ive no desire to maintain someone elses site much less my own.

So has anyone provided a good argument for why those that want to leech should not just go to websites like render-state?
Its has everything a non participant / leech could want.
1.) FREE access to a VAST amount of DAZ/Rendo/RenHub/Rederotica content
2.) No contribution or payment required
3.) Doesn't use pay-walled file hosts
4.) Decently maintained website with and effective and easy searchLike that site is a dream to those that don't want to share or participate in a sharing community. So why are people still wanting the same for a SHARING BASED WEBSITE / COMMUNITY?
What is the argument? A good one I want to read for once. And please, don't include the "I can't afford to fill requests". As that is always a lie and a dumb argument as that's where the above mentioned website can help.
Let's hear something new.
To put it bluntly, if you're not contributing to the community in some way, *this* site isn't going to provide you with free assets any longer. New users get a few points so they can get a feel for how the site works, but if you want to continue to have access, you're going to have to be one of us that at least occasionally provides assets for others. People who are not contributing *at all* here do not have a say in the matter, and those that are contributing have mostly unified agreement that this is a good change.
If you're genuinely too broke to do so, you have other options, and those sites have been mentioned in this thread before. Those sites will dry up soon enough, though, as mods are able to monitor what accounts are doing and with new accounts having more limits on them, it will be more difficult for those sites to create accounts to rip everything off the blog here (which is the primary source of assets on the other Daz piracy sites)
Bottom line: Daz is an expensive hobby, and piracy makes it cheaper. It doesn't make it cost *nothing*. If a tiny cost barrier is enough for you to be unable to participate, then perhaps it's not a hobby that you're suited for and it might be time to move on, or do what you can with what you have. The "everything you want, for free" store is closed.

Its my understanding that they dont have a forum. At least Ive not seen one. That means its not much of a community. At one time the community here was better IMHO. People interacted more, participated more and points was something that was secondary. People were more likely to just post something and rely on the purchases vs backdoor trading and point hoarding. That changed when at least one possibly a few people decided to commandeer the site and fhkup everything. Things werent perfect and the site was in slow decline but they made it go to shyt at a rockets pace.
So the reason to not go to another website is the community. Unfortunate I doubt many of them are still here. Some decided to share privately, some decided to go to AI, some decided to stop playing with digital dolls, some probably died or found something else to waste time on. So the reason to stay would have been the ZoneGfx community. However I doubt there remains much of one.
A few stragglers hoping for the good old days that will not happen. Daz3Ds days are numbered anyway. Unless somehow they merge with AI the countdown to irrelevant has already started.Those sites will dry up soon enough, though, as mods are able to monitor what accounts are doing
I doubt that. Those sites make a profit from ads. They can buy points or even upload content to get points. Its even possible at least one mod may be running a sister site. Possible a whale in the community is running a sister site. Seriously doubt they'll let a source of income dry up.
Ive been wrong before but even if it happens its not going to be over night, if at all.The change will basically delete duplicate accounts. It will definitely promote more sharing.
It may slightly impact sister sites but not enough to matter.Okay that's one argument! But sadly it's one for why it's nice to have this site running and why one should visit it. Not one for why the daily points should be brought back. (I'm not arguing with you directly, I know you're just passing the best one you've seen.)
But response to anything similar to that would be: They still can partake in the conversations that happen! ZoneGFX appears to still allow users to chime in on topics with very little restrictions.
Hopefully another good argument turns up. Because if not, then it sounds like some of the things @wflg-gm said pretty much make it impossible to come up with a solid argument.
That's right, "WE'VE" taken over the site and are running it for OUR benefit. We are running hidden, secret, parallel sites all over the world and giving the content to our alien overlords and the Illuminati. Well I been down trying to get back on my feet with a pc, exchanged bitcoins over time, items i had purchased are no longer available, I lost drives 2 laptops, no when i was trying get get to where i was, everything i had done is now gone here
@Kelsie332 Don't manipulate what i said. I just said what i think and feel and honestly, i'm not wrong. Why would people didn't want to share things or participate in a sharing community anyways? Surely, i'm not one of those and i did share a lot of things in this site.
Don't take it as offensive, i actually agree with you though. I've seen requests that had 80k points but still not filled yet, i guess some people really don't want to share or they really don't have it.
