Skins on G9 look amazing, it's just a shame that when you start to apply morphs, you get man chest on all the feminine models or bitch tits on the masculine ones.

2 days ago I saw what I think was a man. He had the biggest man boobs I think I've ever seen. Maybe 9 was made for people that render that kinda of stuff.

Is there a single very pale skin material that is any good?

I have been looking for good truly milky white skin materials as well. All the ones I've tried lack details.

Have you tried some of the vampire skins. I seem to remember one being decent as a normal skin. Think it had an option for veins. I'll have to browse my textures but it may be awhile till I can get to them.

Might have been this one. Can't remember. Anyways you can do some easy edits by playing with the transparency colors to add/remove flesh tones from a skin with reasonable results

I remember Tasha 8 and people in Daz forum suggest using Death 9 for the same thing. I am just too dumb in playing with surfaces because whatever I did with Death 9 the skins are either too pale, too grey, too blue or just flat. Milky white skins supposed to be pale but also warm.

wow that death 9 skins look amazing! Do you know any other good skin like that @31971207?
As for too pale you can try making the SSS textures yourself, just open the diffuse textures in photoshop, dial up the vibrance by about 20-30% and brightness by 20-30 too.

I might be able to accept the skin if I felt I could easily dial a female character. I always feel like I'm fighting to feminize the model and ending up with a Cluster fhk of some androgynous man thing instead of a female.

I've dialed several G9s and something about them always feels off. Adding an unimpressive skin to an unimpressive model is just a deal breaker.

Doesn't matter much if you let AI enhance your photo though since it will improve your skin as well as feminize your character somewhat.

Still I'm not a fan. I've been tweaking G3-8 skins for awhile and find them easier to edit/modify as well as getting equal or better results than 9.

Perhaps they'll introduce a 9.1 so it's worth keeping the characters backed up IMHO.

TBH I would much rather see the better G9 characters ported to G8.1F.

As is common knowledge though, it isn't that easy.

And that has to be by design @eelgoo. DAZ seems to hate G8.1 for some reason (and it's their best model imo). Before G9, they always allowed some PA to develop a backward compatible tool.

    For sure.

They know it isn't that good & they are hoping folk are going to forget how much better the previous generation was!

The only chance really, I suppose, is some talented scripter putting something out on DA.

I think it was darkhound who put out some character conversion scripts there?

The one thing I desire the most is skin color consistency across multiple characters. If I put two characters in the same environment, their skin color should look consistent. Take bluejaunte skin for example. It might render ok by itself, but put it next to any other character, and the skin color is way out of spectrum, like very dark. Drives me nuts. It's like every Daz artist is using a different skin palette. It's so damn non-cohesive.

Relatively easy fix but time consuming. At one time I had mostly solved the problem.

Select a base model. Doesn't matter so long as it's G? Whatever.

Select a light setup you've gotten good results from.

Put the model in it and add every skin to that model. Delete any skin that looks bad.

    Change the lighting.

Run through every skin you still have. Delete any that look bad.

Change the lighting. Delete any skins that look bad.

3 runs should give you a decent pool to select from.

I did this with morphs also. Any character I thought looked a bit off I deleted the morphs. Helped speed up load time.

So I had a character morph section and a texture section.

Skin color consistency is my biggest issue with Daz. I only use likeness characters and basically have to revert to Bluejaunte if I want to mix different PA characters. I love Bluejaunte skin but there are two problems I could not overcome. One, he doesn't do milky skins, at all. Dialing the Translucency Weight down helps only a little bit because more than a little adjustment the skin looks no better than other PA for reason I do not comprehend. Second, all his skins have serious panda eye problems and I have no idea how to modify that without destroying the skin's looks.
