@wallyburger, Is a 'Torrentbox' the same as a 'seedbox'? If so, do you have to pay for it and how big is it? I'm all for using it if it's not going to burden you. As I mentioned earlier in another thread, I don't believe that these files will see many downloads after the initial flurry of sharing between those of us interested.
One request I'm going to make to @warrant63 is to have a sticky with links so that the few who want this stuff don't have to keep asking in the forums. Or we (he) could add a pointer to the freebies thread in the drop down box up top in 'Community' - 'forum' - 'freebies' - 'old stuff Archives'.September 21, 2026 at 6:55 AM #2188782Yep a seedbox. I do pay for it but it's only pennies and I only use it for music torrents these days. Probably about 8Gb unused storage. It's relatively slow but fine for low volume sharing.
Oh and if there's going to be a K4 archive I've still got a heap on an external drive.September 21, 2026 at 9:47 AM #2188799@wallyburger, Music eh? I probably got all that Lynyrd Skynyr from you last week and just yesterday a discography of CSN&Y.
8Gb isn't much considering that Vicky Four's hair collection alone is 104Gb's. Let me know where it is and I'll check it out. Mega is restricting new free accounts to 20Gb's and it's gotten crazy slow.
Thanks!
E.September 21, 2026 at 1:39 PM #2188824If you are looking for a good seedbox I can vouch for this one https://whatbox.ca/plans
Been using them for years and I think it's a good price for what you get.
September 21, 2026 at 9:37 PM #2188892@diksalad, That IS a good price. I'm thinking that maybe all of us that want this stuff should...
1) see how much we each have (listing items would be too much to ask),
2) agree on a month to exchange it all,
3) we all get a seedbox, fill it, then send each other torrents. One month should be enough to exchange everything. This way we get it all and don't have to continually pay for a seedbox. We could let the mods in on it so that they'd have a 'master' collection.
Suggestions?September 21, 2026 at 10:35 PM #2188899I'd definitely be down for that.
September 22, 2026 at 1:06 AM #2188914@cantonesejim, I'll see how much I've got. I know I have a pile of Vicky Four Stuff.
September 27, 2026 at 5:53 AM #2189606I'm primarily interested in some of the older architecture models that seem to be dead around the sites. I'm weird: love to recreate older building or environment models using updated geomoetry/textures, but I like the older stuff for reference so I can keep similar proportions. Like this old Star Base model. I have no reference for how tall it is other than the stairs which seem to be way too large. But if anyone has models like this I'd love to try updating them.
September 27, 2026 at 10:13 AM #2189637You could post them as custom dufs here when you are done. 🙂
September 27, 2026 at 12:18 PM #2189651That's something I always wanted to do.
September 27, 2026 at 12:57 PM #2189659Looking through and organizing my old stuff, man!...there's a lot of it.
I'd like to suggest that when we're all ready, we agree on a month for a mass 'swop'. We all then sign up for a seedbox for the month and trade torrents. We should keep this to ourselves so that we don't get swamped with hangers-on (you know, people who never contribute) sucking all the bandwidth. Anyone who's seriously interested can send a PM to one of us and we'll put them on the list (so to speak). I imagine that at least one of the mods will also want in on this. I'll also mention this in the Discord server. It's pretty quiet there but there might be a few who want to join in.September 30, 2026 at 3:35 AM #2190030Proton Clound just saw this today, prices seem good for a short term share off
September 30, 2026 at 9:37 AM #2190067@josiebethlewis2019, did you use any AI to help with creating the model? I see that Powerage over at Rendo is using AI, and there's a lot of it in the general 3D category at Renderhub. I see that Meshy can now be used offline and am chomping at the bit to give it a try. I have a pile of fun Ideas I'd love to turn into a real mesh and AI seems poised to be able to provide a basic mesh to get me started.
