    You got the 150 points because you uploaded it to custom content. Now that it has been put in the correct area it now is the 15 points. Pure and simple.

    What I understand, is that this "custom" section is incorrectly understood, but, I do agree with the fact that such content indeed should be checked upon before being allowed, but then also, I don't see a point for this to exist here.

    A better option would be, because people do tend do make photo stories etc, is to give people the option to post their photo stories & series in exchange for points, those they done thenselfs, with proof they made those scenes. (Such as including screenshots of the unrendered version in DAZ studio with the exact same camera angle on a edited photo that has the rendered version right next to it). To me that would be a much better thing.

    @mellowdb the whole idea of the custom content section was for people to share things that they themselves had made. You obviously didn't pay much attention to the chat in the forums when this was being discussed as an area that people could earn points for their creations rather than giving them away for free. The extra points to content creators to to encourage them and most people who are active in the forums agreed that it was a great idea.

    Aah, excuse my incompetence then, but I just got from this topic the idea people did upload things not created by themselves.

    But then again, haven't been around for over a year, so only recently renewed my membership here.

    I do notice that my points have not been credited back as yet, I'm still down the extra 450 points, hopefully that will happen, and that some checking system is implemented to verify if an item is genuinely a custom item.

    @Tootsie excuse my ignorance, but this thread is about a 500pt custom content, I thought the gradation from what I've just been seeing works something like 500pts for custom content, 150pts for software/tools/plugins, and 50pts for items or assets? I don't really think it's pure and simple because I know what I clicked, and it was 'tools/plugins' and not custom content.

    Wait a minute... I see that the custom content button is right beside the upload post button, maybe it would help to move the custom content button across the navigation bar

    I can see how I might have clicked it accidentally

    I think that it should be clarified by changing the navigation bar to.

    ADD CONTENT

    ADD CUSTOM CONTENT

    As it is now, it's confusing seeing 'Add Post' when post is normally associated with adding a post to a forum or something.

    You got the 150 points because you uploaded it to custom content. Now that it has been put in the correct area it now is the 15 points. Pure and simple.

    @illithod:
    Please do note that there are two we separate links to upload content;"Add Post" and "Add Custom Content". One will not do the other's function, so if the intent is not to defraud, then BE SURE to hit the correct link.
    IMHO, I think Custom Content should remain as-is, but must be approved by a human admin. This shouldn't be a problem given that actual CC is few and far between, and generic content easily discerned.

    Note: The "Add Custom Content" only has ONE option in the dropdown: "Custom Content" - so there is no way to use that involuntarily, unless you're high or drunk while doing so.

    That being said - changing the "Add post" to "Add content" would probably be a good idea? Also, when clicking "Submit" on the "Add Custom Content", perhaps have an extra confirm asking if the user has made the content themselves (or at least know the person who did, and can verify that it's indeed custom, and not available anywhere else (yet)).

    @tomsk @hunter

    Perhaps renaming the menu-items will help unfamiliar users? I've mentioned before that the GUI on this site is... not superb. And the naming of the two menu-options can be confusing. Personally, I would put everything into one posting option, and just (if needed) modify the actual form if someone selects "Custom content" - but if you're adamant on keeping both items, perhaps "Add content" and "Add your own content" will be better - it will take up a bit more room, but there is plenty to go around on the menu-bar.

    @Amber if we want to split hairs here about defrauding, the 150 points is 2/3 free from a site visit, so free after a day and a half. If going by the 'get points now', 1000 for $5, then even if people were seeing the cost and still willingly paying 150 points for the software I posted, which costs $199 on steam It literally costs them less than a dollar

    People need to stop treating other members like they are breaking the law when all of you complaining about this technically already are.

    And yes I'm going to own my own turd and say it is my fault for not reading more on how the posting works, or asking more questions. But by the same stretch all of you complaining about refunds or getting your money back for stuff you'll get returned in less than a week anyway just by logging in...

    It says right next to the button you press to buy the content, how much it costs but you clicked it anyway.

    Just had an idea since the site is allowing members to upload material to the site, why not let the market decide and let members set their own price for content that is custom or not that's uploaded, with a cap on content that's uploaded that isn't custom (like 150 pts), and no cap on those uploading their own custom content. If I'm modelling a two headed dinosaur that can blow fire in Zbrush and then put the work into texturing and rigging it for DAZ, I'd probably want to ask 1500pts for it if I'm going to upload it here (but I also like the idea of keeping good to the spirit of sharing art and putting stuff out for less, or free)

    If somebody doesn't want to buy something because it costs too much and a person isn't getting any points for it, then they have the choice to lower it. I'm only suggesting this because I've seen or downloaded things that I think should be a lower or higher point value. I think this would also help people parse out the actual value of tools and materials, and/or find ways to use what they have instead of obsessively hoarding (come on we've all been there). When up-loaders can use their common sense to determine a fair value for items.

    @illithod honestly, just honestly, the prices on everything is the same other than custom content, and if people opened their eyes and read what t meant, you would see that it is for custom creations that members themselves make. All you have done is complain and criticize the site, dont like, you are welcome to run along and make your own site or go elsewhere. Our admin have more than enough to do than to pander to the whims of people who really have no idea of what this site is about or how much work goes into running and maintaining it.
