I'm fully with @Pooper on this one.... absolutely detest advertising. I'll add this to his barbed wire suggestion...

Most ads suck, but there are some that I actually like.

There is one particular user who keeps sending me friend requests. They have no posts on the blog or the forum. Their entire history appears to be daily logins, friend requests accepted, and purchases. I reject them every time, because I have no reason to add them. And they will not. stop. sending. friend requests.

I don't even care that this person is clearly leeching off the community or whatever, I just want them to stop bothering me. I wish we had the ability to block friend requests from specific users, instead of only being able to reject each individual request.

@Fleshkage Simple solution: don't reject anymore, just leave it as-as. They cannot send another request if one is already outstanding. At least that is how it appears to be.

hmm. Is there a way I can mark a request as "seen" so it doesn't continue to show up as an unread notification in the menu? Without either accepting or rejecting the request? That menu notification is the main thing that bothers me, since I rely on that to see if I have messages, mentions, etc.

If I can't do that, then I have an unread notification living in my user menu indefinitely, which would still bother me unfortunately 🙂

The notification definitely goes away after you view it the first time, for sure. I have some outstanding ones now, and they are not in the new notifications.

If you click the eye icon it marks a notification as read. You can also check the boxes and select the bulk action "Mark as read" then "Apply" to mark multiple at once.
