Hey @warrant63, any recommendations on a guide to actually set up an anonymous paypal account? A lot of places don't accept prepaid gift cards anymore (or the gift card bank doesn't allow online transactions to a lot of places), which was always my go-to method.

btw, I also agree with those that say there's something very fishy about this. Has anyone gotten this email that didn't share RH content?

That said, I did get the check. Not sure if it cleared yet tho. Wouldn't be surprised if it bounces.

BTW: I sent an email asking why my account was closed, the said I violated their terms of use. Pretty vague.

No sense in turning away free money if it's legit, so go rent a Post Office Box and have it mailed there (not sure if the EU nations allow one to rent a postal box to receive mail, but in the US you certainly can.)

A few of us have discussed this privately and we agree that @zombiegfx's statement seems suspicious. He joined 4 months ago just when we discovered that RH was 'tagging' their files. He's never posted anything, then now, suddenly he makes a statement about getting money from RH. Why didn't he mention that when he (supposedly) first received the money? It seems suspicious.
I would say that this whole thing sounds like a fishing attempt to get someone's real name and address.

Received the same email.
Total amount was 175.00 from account that was banned.
Took a chance and sent them info.
The dates and account looked correct.
Since I had stupidly used my correct info on the first ban, they
could have found me anyway with little effort.

When I was originally banned, I raised the issue of the content.
Thought this was a late response.
The time limit sounds legit.
The issue itself, cutting you off from something you purchase sounds legit
At the time of my banning, was involved with exchange emails with 3duk, this
was an issue raised. As long as he was paid did not care.
At the time he was making 512.00 a day (saw the invoice)

This is obviously a fishing expedition to link persons who post RH content here, with persons who bought at RH. There are too many coincidences between the two people suggesting that you give RH your real name and address. They've both been here 4 months, about the time RH started dating downloads. They're friends. Anna1945 has been especially vocal against RH, possibly to appear as one of the good guys and build a sense of trust? It could be legit but there's too many questions and red flags.

The quoted email screams 'bullshit'.
Why would they be required to issue a refund? You've already downloaded the purchase. Having it available for download is just a bonus.
The wording of the email is NOT great English. Any company would do better.
I'm calling this bullshit...stay away...don't respond.

No= you are safe, no worry's, no money
If the letter was 20 bucks, would ignore
175.00 gives reason to pause
Yes_ They have my name and and address. Under that name, etc was banned
Now they have my name and address. Now what?

As I mentioned a canary in the coal mine. I will update you all
of what happens. But don't forget the time limit. All of this (the letter)
sounds as if it was done on legal advice we will see.

Conclusion if your amount is lets say 20 and you are hesitant ignore it.
If the amount is something you can use. What is the worst possible scenario
for supplying name and address

frank 21, they knew my email, they knew the transactions, they could look
up the rest. The only thing missing is a photo of me in my pajamas.
You pay your money and take your chances
