    What has always disappointed me about these celebrity characters is that they only sorta/kinda look like the celeb from a head-on view. As soon as you tilt the head or, cow forbid, apply an expression, it all goes to hell.

    Okay so I've purchased from Rhenderart in the past. His models can be very good. the skins for his models are a basic genesis skin and then just the center portion of the face is custom painted. Much the same way that RKS skins are except the quality of Rhenderart is definitely better. The facial structures are usually really good. Although I have obtained some that I thought were lacking and disappointed me. The disappointment at this price point is harsh as fuck. I have only gotten a couple of the models with the body included but I was mostly disappointed with the bodies so if you're going to spend on these models then I recommend not going for the body.

    So next is that these models are really limited the way he packages it. This is probably going to be confusing but bear with me. So the models are packaged as a "scene subset" and the morph is exclusive to that scene subset. So in other words if you just load a normal G9 for instance the morphs by Rhenderart won't show up in the morph list.

    Another thing which I think is not that bad but a lot of people might think it is bad is that he requires you to promise to not post nudes of the models he sells you on the internet.

    Let me just say that I use these models frequently and I think they are very nice. Just with all these issues and limitations they are definitely not worth $95 for the head on G9s. So I always feel like I should clobber myself over the head after buying from him.

    I'm not sure at this time that I would share these models. So don't assume that I'm just going to drop links for the ones I have.

    @jabaduhut I don't know if it was your intent, but your post made me less likely to buy something from this guy. Granted, I wasn't going to anyway at that price. But I do like Jennifer Connelly and if his stuff was studio quality work, I might be tempted. I have Thwaites' celebrity series model of her and I don't even use it because it's like a cartoon version when using IRAY. But once you said "painted" rather than sculpted, that's a huge red flag.

    I'm not sure what happened to the request page.

    @warrant63
    Did RHenderArt's model request get removed? If so, I didn't get the models filled or a refund of my points used. Usually, when a request is filled, the request page is still active for a few days and I get a PM from the person that filled it. I didn't get any of those.

    @jabaduhut Ooh I see, I figured that was the case but I wasn't entirely sure.

    Anyone wanting to try out the quality can find a male and a female model posted as freebies on the artist’s DeviantArt page. They include custom expression morphs, a feet morph, two hairstyles, facial hair, body hair, and makeup. It’s free and brand new.

    The scene subset is a bit stupid, because you can easily save the morphs yourself. Same with all the hair assets. The textures are loose, and even if they weren’t, you could export those too.

    The only thing I don't like is the textures are slightly stylized, and some lights and shadows are painted.

    I’ve always been on the fence about getting some of their models, but they’re expensive as fuck. He could make Daz Originals so we don’t get all these female clones like Lilith, 5-6 weeks after Isabella, only for her to be a Leona/Madison/Brianna/Kristina sister. You can tell which PA makes each DO...

    My intent was only to review my experience in dealing with Rhenderart and that is all.

    I just saw the refund for that request come through. So are Rhenderarts files off limits to request then? If so I did not know that.

    I sent the mods a message and @Maddy messaged me.

    "As far as I can see from your transaction history, your points have been refunded.
    Your request was removed by one of the moderators. My guess is that it was because requests should be made for a specific product, rather than for all models by a particular creator.

    Also, the link in the request should lead to a page where that product can be purchased.
    However, there may have been another reason for the removal."

    What I want to know is which mod removed the request page and the reason for removing it. That'll help provide clarity that way I can properly setup a request the right way. And if the request page was removed because sharing RHenderArt's model is not allowed, I need to know that so I don't waste anyone else's time.

    Looks like a bunch of regurgitated gaming models to me because I see the same faces go round and round and round. Anyone thinking of paying those prices for a head alone must be vaccinated and boosted up to the hilt.

    @InverseKinematics

    yeah, ngl, the prices are def expensive as hell. But the quality is up there.

    How do you know RHenderArt uses gaming models? From my observations, it looks like the textures are at least better than gaming models. Gaming models are usually optimized to 2K or lower.

    But you gotta admit, at those prices the chances of having your assets pirated go waaaaaay down 🙂

    But then...so do the sales.

    I don't know, it's just a guess using my eyes and seeing the same models tweaked and polished across 3D land. You take a gaming character because it's free and ripped by someone else. Then, if you have the skills, you refine it in Blender or any other modeling app, borrow textures from a quality DAZ character, throw it into Photoshop and do with it as you wish. Been there, seen it all.

    And don't forget the shop front. The promo's are the key to the sale. Once you've parted with your money you may be disappointed because the vendor won't tell you their lighting setup and Photoshop makeover process, all because you wanted the character to look exactly as advertised, yet it doesn't.

    I took a deep dive into G8 textures a few years ago. You'd be shocked how many borrow each others work and tweak them to their liking for their own characters. The failure to hide the original vendors name from their textures was a dead giveaway. Not that DAZ give a flying rat's ass as long as they get a cut. The entire 3D world if riddled with plagiarism.
