Apparently, people still do not understand how to download from Bunkr, so I'm going to simplify things:
1. Bunkr is an ad heavy site, so you may get redirected to a different site or get a bunch of pop ups when you try to download a file. You may also get a false positive for a virus or malware, likely due to the ads. It's frustrating but it's a fact of life. Get an ad blocker or just retry the link.
2. Bunkr servers do occasionally go down for maintenance. If you're not able to download the file, make note of the server's name in your web address bar and check the status on https://status.bunkr.ru/. If the server is down for maintenance, you'll have to wait until it's back up.
3. Don't flag posts just because you couldn't download the file on demand. Bunkr is one of a very few services that offer DMCA resistant file storage, which makes it safer to use than MEGA or Mediafire. If you run into one of the above issues downloading, try again later.
4. This is more of a personal point for me, but recently someone rudely demanded I post a new link for a file he wanted to download, because he got a virus/malware warning. This upset me as I am providing these files for free, at cost to me. I will not provide new links on demand, when the links I have given still work just fine (even if it takes little patience!). Nor will I burden myself trying to maintain dozens of storage accounts to try to accommodate demands for links other than Bunkr. Sorry to anyone who takes this as offensive, but that's how it is for me.
I've been very happy being a semi-lurker in this community, finding hidden gems I never would have known about otherwise and sharing when good fortune favors me, and hope I can continue doing so.
November 28, 2024 at 5:44 am #2105101Bunkr is not the only example, others sites that get flagged here are jpg.church and jpg*.su
People tend to trust their antivirus more than some random guy on the internet vouching for the safety of a file sharing website that already has a dubious reputation. That reputation could be due to some of the 3rd party ads as you claim, or worse, that website may have been compromised by hackers to distribute malicious content or run nefarious scripts on user's browser for a prolonged duration, long enough for these AV companies to take notice and flag the entire site. In either case, whether it is their choice of ad content or lack of server security, it does not inspire confidence for the site's visitors.
Typically, when an entire domain name is flagged by antivirus companies, then it is a strong red flag for the server admins to switch domains, or even their hosting company. It is much easier to start on a new domain than repair or work around the ruined reputation of an existing domain name. The affinity for the site management to stick with their dis-reputed domain, for whatever reasons, could also be interpreted as their disregard for user's safety or wilful involvement with the malicious actors.
The rudeness from consumers can be explained by how strongly one cares for their own online safety while dealing with someone whose sense of online safety is not as strong as theirs. Sometimes, its just not worth the risk, especially when there are safer alternatives available. Other sites, like render-state and shadowcore have been dealing with this problem without resorting to dubious file sharing sites.
Remember, each one of us have their own preference where they draw the line with regards to their online safety, and it is rude to judge them for that. Not everyone who consume pirated content, uses VPN with Tor, or have the capacity for disposable virtual machines.
November 28, 2024 at 12:54 pm #2105159.. its nice of you to think that those people are going to read this.. 🙂
.. this topic has been beaten to death quite a few times and still people do the same thing..
.. even google links get reported when they show a "too many downloads, try after some time" message.. 😀November 28, 2024 at 3:36 pm #2105193Thank you for this.
For reasons I have expounded on adnauseum I use
Bunkr exclusively.
It gets extremely tiresome to keep repeating it over and over.
Bottom line, members who fail using Bunkr do not want to
do the work required......they expect new links.
Not happeningNovember 30, 2024 at 4:16 am #2105466I do not know why you guys are surprised.
The people downloading want free shit for a 3D platform where the skill level required is "retarded".
The same users who complain that the free shit they steal is lowering in quality.
Now me? I'm a hot blooded American, I don't use fuckin ugly red technology and therefore I am against Bunker on Principle.
We are not the same.
November 30, 2024 at 4:36 am #2105468If you live in America 80%+ of what you own is made in a communist country.
November 30, 2024 at 3:09 pm #2105555members who fail using Bunkr do not want to
do the work required....Ands this is a prime example of the total lack of assistance or support for those who have tried all of the options to get the DL to work and it still will not do so.
There are also location issues that no matter what you use - or try - your location is interpreted as one that will not allow Bunkr.
Ever since Bunkr has been used by members here it has been allowed to complete a DL for 2 out of 8 requested DLs [fortunately the remaining failure were provided as alternative links by members who are prepared to go the extra mile. It hardly takes much effort to upload a link and delete it when thanks are received - which they most certainly are when an effort is made. And it is certainly ad-nauseum when constantly being repeated about how determined one is to never provide another link and only ever use Bunkr.
There was also a post here once about members being required to have an alternative link available in case of take-downs [or situations such as these with Bunkr].But obviously those not interested in being of any help will constantly defend their decision and lack of helpfulness.
Merry Xmas
🙂November 30, 2024 at 4:56 pm #2105568Tough shit
November 30, 2024 at 5:11 pm #2105569.. its nice of you to think that those people are going to read this..
^ This
The toughest thing to do in this world is getting people to take the time to read something for 2 minutes. Ensuring they understood what they just read is another matter in of itself.
But at the same time, good post OP and I agree with you. sadly it might fall on death ears as the people your talking about are those that don't read.
November 30, 2024 at 10:42 pm #2105605@Fuzzy3000 I am not obligated to provide endless links for the models I share, simply because someone doesn't like the storage solution I use. I've been burned by DMCA takedowns using the more well-known storage sites, and as I originally posted, I am not going to try to maintain multiple file sharing accounts just to satisfy people's sense of entitlement. I PAY for these models. I don't get anything in return for providing them except the points for filling the requests.
"It hardly takes much effort to upload a link..." It also takes almost no effort to go and actually BUY the models yourself. Lack of helpfulness? It has been explained multiple times how downloading on Bunkr works. I myself have never had an issue downloading from Bunkr links provided by others who share, BECAUSE I read the posted info and know what possible issues to expect.
Bottom line, if you don't like Bunkr or have issues with downloading from Bunkr, then don't try to download the models with Bunkr links. Make a request for the model to be posted to another storage site.
December 1, 2024 at 3:56 am #2105639agreed.
December 1, 2024 at 4:08 am #2105641Echo everything Patrick has said plus.
If you are looking for customer service it is on the 5th floor.
If you are looking for the Salvation Army it is on the fourth floor.
Travelers aid is on the third floor.
Crying towels are on the ground floor.
Your post would play better with violins in the backgroundThose good samaritans who are taking the bunkr files and reposting
are breaking rules.
In some cases they are reposting here and getting points
In some cases I fulfill requests for 11 people, 40 people download.
Please don't tell me about the unselfish helpful people I know better.
Until now have not said anything about the underground subculture
of reposting my items.
Mainly because it saves me from listening to the bitching and moaning
and crying of people too lazy or ignorant to either buy their own items
or want them hand delivered.
But please do not download what I have bought with my money and
bitch about the delivery service.
You buy and fulfill and see how long you last.
Will look for you in the request section....you do know where it is?December 1, 2024 at 5:16 am #2105646.. amen to that 🙂 .. @anna1945
December 1, 2024 at 7:51 am #2105657It would be nice if those defending only using Bunkr actually read the reasons why it causes problems. The comments were not aimed at 1 specific person - but several seem to have had a nerve struck...
As stated clearly it is a specific LOCATION issue that does not allow connecting to Bunkr [other than a very rare occasions, which are very hit and miss] which means that I have only managed to DL 2 out of 8 that have been attempted.
It is NOT my lack of effort or trying to make it work - it is just generally not worth the effort.
I fully agree with the use of sites that are almost immune from take-downs - they are a major pain for the site. Still does not solve my issue - or that of other members that have strongly voiced them, and adds gratitude to those that do help out as opposed to constantly whining themselves about why they refuse to be of any help [good community spirit by the way]. If that is all you care about why not disappear yourselves and let those who support each other support the site - your lack of help will not be missed. But please do not download what I have bought with my money and
bitch about the delivery service.
You buy and fulfill and see how long you last.
Will look for you in the request section....you do know where it is?As you so vehemently state that you will never provide a link other than Bunkr - and given the issues with that site [that maybe you actually read this time] it is unlikely that I will DL from you, isn't it?
@Warrant63 -
If I see a post in the blog that is Bunkr I will avoid it and the likely hassle.
Unfortunately it is not possible to know if an item request will be filled by someone using Bunkr - which more of an issue when the filler refuses to provide another link and also refuses to return points [keeps 1000 points; provides no link - worse than a leacher]
When there is a definite reason that a DL cannot be completed [not the accusation of a lack of trying] it should be possible to recover the points offered [in the same way that deciding to withdraw offer - click the red x] especially when an alternative link is refused.
Not that long ago the site was advocating that everyone has available more than 1 link - in case of take-downs. Stroppy members that are of no help are worse.December 1, 2024 at 8:11 am #2105659I've had an issue with bunk twice. Normally I don't. Both times I request a fresh link and both times the posters were kind enough to send one. Ask nicely and appreciate their efforts in bringing you a free product. Certain people here report links and places like mega get removed quickly if it happens. I've no problem with PM links if the poster is willing to take a little effort in fulfilling a request
However I've had a LOT of public posts on bunk that are dead and I don't even bother clicking them anymore.
So I'm both fine with it and hate it.
