@sandeep Fillers have every right to say, "my way or the highway". We are the ones buying the models, setting them up on online storage, and providing download links FREE OF CHARGE. It is outright arrogant and the height of entitlement to think you should have any say in how WE distribute models and links.

As for the "condescending" attitude? When you spend hundreds of dollars on models which you then turn around and give away FOR FREE, AT RISK of getting banned from accessing the sites those models are sold at, and people want to complain that they can't download them and that the people providing those downloads are unhelpful and condescending?

You don't like how someone handles posting files, buy the damn models yourself and quit expecting the rest of us to just give them to you.

No one is forcing anyone to share anything here. Even if they don't share, someone else will, eventually. That's how this open demand-supply system works. The point system is self-sustaining to a large extent that there would always be enough people to share. But, if someone is coming here to "wrap" their contribution with a condescending attitude, then they are just being a nuisance and polluting the environment for everyone, possibly even discouraging others from having any civil conversation. If this condescending behavior emanates from multiple folks, and goes unchecked, then this community would only be left with folks that condone that toxicity.

That said, a better way to address with the issue at hand would have been to approach it objectively, without the condescending tone of course. When people complain about certain aspects (such as warnings or geo-blocking) of bunkr they expect to be heard, not dismissed. One may have genuine personal reasons for using bunkr. But others need to be convinced about the worth (due to lack of better term) of their inconvenience, else they would keep complaining. But instead of discussing those, if you choose to be arrogant and condescending about it, then it only adds to the toxicity.

Even I have purchased items and filled requests anonymously without using bunkr. I do not maintain public posts due to the apprehension that those might get traced back to me (easy for someone from the marketplace to tally the list of public posts to the list of purchases). I am not into piracy big time, so its not worth the time or effort for me to maintain multiple shill accounts at shops to evade detection. If this site supported anonymous public posting, I might have been interested (I know about Monk's thread but that's limited to few select items). I fill requests only when I need points to keep myself afloat, as I don't desire to 'climb up the ranks' or to get my ego massaged.

Sharing at other sites have always been voluntary, but here it seems to be thrust upon as a responsibility. So the feeling of entitlement seems to emanate from people who feel that they are fulfilling that responsibility more than others. Unfortunately, that feeling will always be there as long as people get to flaunt their sharing status. The arrogance and condescension is a by-product of this system. Not a healthy by-product by any standards when it comes to community building. Points should be treated only as a currency to get along, a means to keep the system self-sustaining, but never as a yardstick of any status that they have now become.

No doubt that bunkr is problematic and not a good choice as a file host but I get the OP perspective as well. I can't even access mediafire without a VPN (stupid isp). It's not convenient but I don't mind having to dodge a few ads/ popups in exchange for "free" stuff.

(Not trying to take sides here or get into an argument)

Yesterday I received a bounty fulfillment. I think it was originally media and mega. Both dead links after 5 hours. Filler reposted it on Google.

So it didn't take long for those 2 links to die. I don't think the filler should be required to make an alt mega account every few hours. I do however think the filler should have some way of getting the product to the people requesting it. If that's bunk then it is what it is. I think the poster should at least make an attempt to get everyone who offered points the item for a few days after it's filled not like 2 weeks later or pull it after day.

being "geo-blocked" is not the responsibility of the posters, regardless of which storage site they use. We have no way of knowing who might be prevented from downloading based on their location.

Nobody has said it is the poster's responsibility - nor that they are able to know who has DL issues due to location.
But it would show a little more helpful attitude to members that DO have these issues, in spite of repeatedly trying things to get it to work.
Not the attitude of 'not using any other site - tough shit 7 fuck off' That attitude deserves to be kicked.

Have you tried messaging the posters and politely asking them for help?

Obviously - that is the first thing that happens, if any links fail after numerous attempts to solve the issue.
I do not simply expect the OP to instantly cater to issues.
With most members here there is usually a quick and friendly response with a new link [this has even been a temporary which can be deleted after confirming it has DL's OK].
In 1 or 2 cases the response has been the same as above. Delightful attitude.

I don't treat any item that I have filled any different, Issues are addressed as quick as possible, in the general helping spirit of this community - I do not think it is wrong to expect the same kind of support, not the 'take-it-or-leave-it' shit attitude.

As for the points - if a request is filled by someone who uses Bunkr - which then proves to be a link that repeatedly fails no matter what is tried, and this issue has been mentioned, why should the OP keep the points if the attitude is again tough shit, no other link - especially if not just losing 50 purchase points but having pledged 1000 or more. Points thief is as bad as leaches.

But no doubt those that hold that attitude will merely continue to attempt to justify it all while pleading how wonderful they are.

    Happy new year as well...
    🙂

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with these bunkr links. I'm not as internet savy as some of the other people here (I have no idea what yall mean by the location being the problem). I've got ublock installed but i keep getting a file not found/file was removed error. Is there a setting or something I need to turn on in ublock? Not asking anyone to walk me through it step by step but a little push in the right direction would be nice.

@rowantate some websites are geo-blocked and you won't be able to access them from certain countries. I can't access bunkr without a VPN, for example.

Some of these file-hosts show ads/ popups often leading to malware downloads which is why using an ad-blocker is recommended. But ublock won't help if the site is geo blocked.

If you can access the website but you're getting a file not found/ removed error, then the file was either taken down or deleted by the uploader.

In that case, you can "Report" the post or even make a new request for the item, I guess.

    🙂
