Even I have faced issues on multiple occasions with Bunkrr blocking downloads from my location. This happens for links hosted from some of their servers.
However I've had a LOT of public posts on bunk that are dead and I don't even bother clicking them anymore.
Thats because bunkr has a 30 day inactivity based removal policy. For this reason itself, it should not be used for public posts.
Best policy is to download & back up your files when you get the link.
That goes for all hosts, not just bunkr.
Regarding Bunkr dead files.
1. I post anon, which means there are no rules on how long I must keep the link up.
2. A moderator suggested (s u g g e s t e d!!!!!) a period of 5 days would
be adequate this is flexible and not a hard and fast rule
.
3. I use Bunkr to keep myself legal with the community, Render Hub,Renderosity.
4. As I mentioned members were "misusing" my files.I was finding my
Renderhub Bunkr files in the public thread under another name (not bothering
to even repost)
5. I fill a request for 10 people, Bunkr shows over 30 to 40 downloads
6. Using my pipeline, this is the longest I have gone without being
banned, threatened etc. Because of this I am able to fill requests for
Renderhub and Renderosity. To date I Have over 5 1/2 million points. I am not purchasing and filling for points, but to help those who are not doing as well as I am. Not to contribute to lowlifes. There are good and decent people here, unfortunately you have to look
But. I am not a sucker, I do not have the word simple written on my forehead.
Furthermore like anyone else, I do not appreciate being taken advantage of and shit on.
So if you think my approach is not helpful.....tough shit!.
If I think that a fill of mine is being misused I will delete the file.
You can go to the "bottom feeders" for help.
It is a rare environment where people who contribute time and money
are considered non helpful by people who would rob you blind.
My using Bunkr will continue. My deleting misused links will continue.
I do not spend a lot of time in the "general chat" section, but
it appears to be filled with members who brag about not filling requests.
They bitch and moan about a system they are not even a part of
Appears they get points from "ice-box" art or bottom feeding off
people that actually fill requests

It is good to "clear the air"I am talking about public posts with bunkr links that get deactivated by bunkr due to 30 days of inactivity. This is clearly mentioned in their FAQ https://bunkr.si/faq. Since many of the filled request posts here get promoted to public posts, this concerns those posts as well. @eelgoo Backing up does not help, if someone is accessing them for the first time after bunker deactivates those links due to inactivity. Can you check how many dead posts had bunkr links?
There are some bunkr account/files that get frequent activity and therefore remain active. But these are more like exceptions than default.
@anna1945 I have personally received several fills from you, all having bunkr links. I appreciate your contributions, and I do understand your general frustration with leechers. But I do not understand how using bunkr solves the leech problem for you, so I would appreciate if you can keep these concerns separate. If you are referring to the download count being higher than member count, then that could be due to various reasons. For one, it could be a member facing the geo restriction block from bunker while accessing your links. Then they try various other options to access the file through
Tor, proxies or VPN whatever they have at their disposal. May be they encounter geo block there as well. It is possible, and I say this without any internal knowledge of bunkr, that bunkr registers each of these attempts as separate download count. May be, this could be the reason why you are seeing abnormally high download count. Since bunkr uses anonymous downloads, it cannot distinguish between unique users and multiple attempts from different IPs by the same user.Did it ever occur to you that their geo blocking could be the reason why you are seeing that discrepancy in download counts?
Perhaps, but occurs within days/hours.
Originally when I started using bunkr the average counts were (Within two days)

The view count was under 20.
Now the thankyou's have stayed the same the bitching has gone down due to
1. Bottom feeders
2.My stressing no other links.
But
The view count has doubled to tripled.
According to Bunkr the count is downloaded files.
So
I post for 14, bottom feeders reposted somewhere, my links are shared.
Two problems for me.
1. In one case someone took a anon bunkr file and posted it in the public area under their name. It was a renderHub item (thankfully detracked)
2. Even though detracked my files are showing up elsewhere.
My paranoia is that the detracked file will somehow be broken and traced to me.
I say this with all the emotion I can sum up.
If I do not use Bunkr I will not fill requests.
I am getting used to the idea of being fucked over by some of
the people here.
But I draw the line at legal crapGoing forward will make this easier for everyone.
5 million points is enough for anyone.
Reading some of the most recent post here and being slammed by people
I was trying to help has proved exasperating to say the least.
I am fortunate enough to have a great job in the film industry plus
teaching/lecturing jobs that fill my day.
To sum up, I don't need this kind of crap.
So the solution is very obvious.
My thanks to the great people who have been so very kind to me
and whose gratitude has made this journey worthwhile.
As to the rest of you.....Side note.....have filled a number of requests over the past few
days. Download asap they will be deleted shortlyI usually open the bunkr links on my phone and donwload the file then transfer it on my computer, so my antivirus doesn't go berserk and i don't have to change the settings.
And for the guys who are going to say, you're just moving the issue to your phone: most phones have an antivirus theses days.Being "geo-blocked" is not the responsibility of the posters, regardless of which storage site they use. We have no way of knowing who might be prevented from downloading based on their location.
As for PM'ing links, nobody bothers to send me any such requests. They just flag my posts as dead. Not to mention I've PM'ed links in the past on other sites and gotten inundated with such requests. It seriously becomes a headache just keeping up with people who just want stuff for free.

You're posting complaining about not being able to download files because they aren't being stored on a site you can access and how "unhelpful" people are being because they won't cater to your specific situation. Have you tried messaging the posters and politely asking them for help?As for keeping the points? We provide a legitimate download link for the models we share. We receive points for providing the download link. That's the agreement for providing the models. If there are problems with the downloads, we address them, either by showing the link still works properly, or providing new links when a file has been deleted or DMCA'd, if we still have the file. We can't fix "geo-blocking" or pop-up ads, or antivirus false positives. We can't control site maintenance or server shutdowns, or file deletion due to inactivity.
As I've posted before, I'm not going to maintain multiple storage accounts just to provide endless links. IF one of my files gets deleted (which none of them have yet) I'll look at providing an alternate download. IF a member politely messages me with a request for an alternate download because of issues using Bunkr, I will look at providing an alternate link for them or adding an alternate link to the post - just don't bury me in link requests.
But if you just report my post as a dead link, without making sure the file is actually gone, or make rude demands for new links, the answer is too bad, the link on the post is it.
@Anna1945 I get where you're coming from. I've no doubt many of my posts have been reposted by other users as well. If you do/have decided to stop sharing, I thank you for everything you've given and wish you well.It is easy enough to request a new upload.
@eelgoo Apparently it is becoming more difficult especially while dealing with the condescending attitude of certain fillers who feel entitled to say "my way or the high way" while disregarding any inconvenience of requesting members.
Since these condescending conversations happen in closed threads of requests accessible only to the participants, mods other than warrant63 probably won't even know about this.

If I learned anything from my time on the planet and working for companies that see you as a number. Everyone can be replaced and eventually will be. Time is a funny thing. My grand kids have never held a record, probably no idea what an 8-track is and couldn't tell you the difference between Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam. For the short term people will be missed. For the long term it wont matter. Ive been here a really long time and nothing you've said hasn't been said before and some of it has been said by me. I see no reason for people that are well off to pirate content. Ive always looked at it as a way for the less fortunate to have access to more for less.
Maybe Ive just not been able to look at it from an elitist perspective and felt that I should be worshiped for my donations to society.
