I've noticed something odd, all recent (at least the last year) products have SKU's that end in odd numbers only. I've searched on the docs pages and the 'even' ending SKU's don't have a product assigned. The older products took advantage of all the SKU numbers, mostly with the texture add-on being the subsequent SKU to the main product.

Does anyone know why this is?

The only reason I can think of for them doing this is to escalate the numbering quicker with less products. Maybe to make it seem that they have a bigger line of products than they actually do?

[There's no real point behind this post except it piqued my interest and I wanted to know if anyone else noticed or knew why.]

The man speaks the truth. The SKU numbers don't get assigned in sequence, from what I've seen different vendors appear to have their own ranges. Who knows why Daz do anything the way they do. The way they calculate their discounts appears to be a whole new branch of mathematics...

I have not noticed no even numbered sku's but I have noticed something else. They use to be real good about the order has well. A base mesh would always have a lower sku then a add-on. Now though, and it has been going on for sometime, they no longer brother. I've seen texture or addon packs for items and THEIR sku would be lower then the base item they are for.

Yeah, @Starryeyes, that annoys me a little as well because I rename all my Daz products with their SKU first and the texture (or whatever) add-on appearing above the main product get's a little vexing for my obsessive tendencies.

The naming format I always use is:

Vendor Base Character Product Name SKU

    eg

    3DArena V4 Agatha [RO103528]

That way all vendor content falls alphabetically and sorted oldest base character to newest.

    🙂
