or try a smoothing modifier and then adjust it.
edit>object>geometry>add smoothing modifier
see smoothing parameters in objects parameters tab.
nice outfit. where did you get it?
There is a lot of ST Uniforms avaible out there. either has stand alone meshes with textures or texture replacement for other times. This looks a lot like the ST:TNG outfit for G8 by amyaimei over on Deviant Art.

She also has the ST:TNG Uniform for G8M and the Classic ST:TOS male and female uniforms for G8, all free downloads.
Also, the site Poser/DAZ/Freebies Wiki has a extensive list of ST resources. Most of the clothing/poses/Skins/AlienMorphs listed there are for the gen3, and gen4 characters but there are also some listings for Genesis 1 and above and it also has a lot of listings for equipment and other related items.

@StarryEyes Thank you 🙂 It turns out that this is the ST:TNG outfit for G8 by amyaimei 🙂
@bobdawg It seemed to be a lighting issue. Tried IRay Ghost Lighting to resolve a different issue and the artefacts disappeared!!
Thanks for the suggestion though mate 🙂
