Just saw something that was curious -- I made a post earlier (dForce Scottish Wear for Genesis 8 Female(s)) and within twenty minutes it appeared on another site. I chalked it up to coincidence, but later many of the same posts that are in the "PENDING FOR APPROVAL" queue here -- Mounted Crossbow, Drop Box, Hot N Cold Clothing, Tiles 2, Hot Work Costume, dForce Nana Style -- all appeared on that other site some time after they appeared in the queue here. None of these have been approved yet here.

Is it a strange coincidence, or are these posts getting farmed to other sites before they're approved here?

It's not a strange coincidence and has been going on for a while.

    I wasn't aware of that.
I had noticed it the other way around though.
Items appearing here very shortly after appearing at other sites.

I only noticed because I was watching my own post in the queue closely (I made a mistake in the past with the links so I wanted to catch any mistakes as soon as it got posted) and noticed that other posts waiting to be approved with mine were gradually popping up at that other site too. At first I thought I left a link exposed like I did the first time but it wasn't that. Anyways, I guess it's just a heads up that posts in the approval queue are finding their way to another site.

    @clayjank

Am I right in thinking the site you are referring to isn't a pay site anyway?

It's a "3D~" free site, I think it supports itself with ads. I totally understand that when we post things here that they make their way into the wild -- it just wasn't expected that it would happen while waiting the queue.

I had noticed items appearing at another "3D" site after appearing here but I didn't think they were appearing before approval. Sometimes they appear very quickly, I timed one of my items once but they must have been having an off day with that one because it took a couple of hours.

Just seen Lorenzo appear at 3DLoad and he's in the approval Q here before an item I just posted.

I have seen them in the queue here, even items that I have posted here, turn up over at skyback etc before they get approved here. It really does seem a really strange coincidence when the items are bought by several different people here, and then turn up posted there by one person while in the queue, even older items that some one has dug out of their old stock. It has been going on for a long time.

that is what i noticed long ago already,

now personally, i just use whatever is available to me getting it from anywhere.

But lately been thinking to Join up with 3D-Stuff, i do have a sense of guild to be able to just be able to download whatever i want, and their system has changed.

Now, you need a Daz3D Gift card, at least, this way you are giving back to daz itself, even though it's still not entirely the same as actually buying a product seperately, but, also for the simple reason, there is alot of stuff on there that has not been leaked elsewhere.

Now, that is where I do have an issue.
For myself, if any money is to change hands, which in effect that is what that is, it should go at the very least in part to the creator, rather than to a pirate site.
Those sites are quite preparred to freely download stuff in the wild, then get a hissy fit if anyone has the temerity to publicly post any of 'their' content which they don't own anyway.

that's the point of a gift card, either way, the point is simple, they give you a choice, either use the gift card yourself, or exchange it on their website, meaning one of the admins there get's the gift card in exchange for points to use on their website.

what do we do here? we get points that have no value other than on ZoneGFX, and get 100 points for free, meaning nothing at all is given back to Daz or their creators.

Remember though, sharing stuff makes you the pirate, a user downloading it because it's available is not, if there is such a barrier as on 3D-Stuff, than you know you are at least giving money to Daz itself, and what you do with that gift card is your choice.

I know we are trying to justify what is dubious behaviour at best but, the way I see it the pirate site gets the benefit of the gift card, ie cash.

At the end of the day though, it is whatever the individual concerned is OK with. 🙂

that is true, but it came out of your pocket.

in the end, everyone has their reasons as to why they use a website like this, and i will also gladly admit that, even though i use 3D-Load, i do use a ad-blocker as i've seen some of those ads are malicious, downloading stuff without my given permission.
