So G8F takes awhile to load. A good bit more than G8M.
Im guessing its searching and loadind possible morph selections.Im considering wiping Daz and limiting myself to a hand full of characters AGAIN. I did this twice already and continue to fall into the install everything trap.
Other than multiple installs of Daz, is there a solution to separating content that loads? Multiple file paths? Is there an option to load a vanilla G8 that will not try to access morphs or can I drop just her in a file and add morphs from another path?
October 5, 2018 at 4:44 PM #789629G3F and G8F literally both take several minutes to load for me. I usually alt-tab or walk away. It's crazy that it must be trying to load every single morph installed.
There was nothing that I could see in the options. So you pretty much don't want to install any kind of morph slider resource packs or controls. All that stuff is just adding to the loading time.
October 5, 2018 at 11:28 PM #789973Why not have a separate library with just basic content installed, then its just a matter of a few clicks to enable the larger library if you need something.
October 6, 2018 at 3:20 AM #790207I was thinking about that while I was writing. I think if I installed G8 in a separate section and loaded her from a vanilla file the I could revert to the main one again.
Id just select to add another content folder. Ill have to try it, thanksOctober 6, 2018 at 9:23 AM #790525Actually that sounds like a viable plan.
Let us know how well it works. 🙂October 6, 2018 at 11:22 AM #790660so I re-downloaded G3 and G8 and added the body and head vanilla required morph packages. Put them all in there own file and dropped them in a non-Daz folder.
booted Daz up and added the file as a Daz base file. So now I have the Base file Full of Downloads and the Base file with only the bare minimum.
From the base file I load G8 into Daz and it take awhile to load... I check the morphs and ALL the morphs to ALL characters are there.
It seems that Daz will merge any content that is located under "Daz Studio Formats"
I may try putting it under "other" but tired atm and need to go to work soon.
October 6, 2018 at 11:23 PM #791346Sounds like you haven't specified the correct folders/libraries in content management.
October 6, 2018 at 11:45 PM #791366Hmmm.... I thought telling Daz, Go look here would keep it from looking someplace else. I guess i could try listing it as other but from my limited understanding, I thought it only looked for files of you listed it as a main folder or clicked the target.
I guess dropping it in daz base means anything there is fair game. Ill give it a shot after i render some stuff.
October 7, 2018 at 8:31 PM #792578Open up DAZ, right click on Content Library, select Content Directory Manager, select the libraries you want to disable and remove the paths, you will then need to just add a path to the new folder that holds the basic gen 8 files.
There is also an easier way depending on the size of you library:
I have a separate Library for what I consider to be adult material, if I need to hide this I simply move the folder to another location, the path is still visible in Content Directory Manager but as the folder is no longer there DAZ cannot find the files, when I want to access the files it's a simple matter of moving the folder back to it's original location.October 8, 2018 at 5:16 AM #792970My solution was more time consuming.
Other than hair and a few clothing items I rarly use G3 and I only use a handful of G8 models and textures. So i just deleted my folder and will probably take a few days to put it in order.
Going to eliminate clothing, models, textures, ect... that i always overlook. Gives me more space faster loads and will streamline my flow a bit.
