I have tried Platinum Palace with a few different bodies now and on half the bodies I have tried Platinum Palace causes a "ridge" to form near the seam of the geograft. Has anyone else encountered this? Or maybe have a suggestion of might might be causing it if it's something on my side of things?
August 23, 2026 at 9:47 PM #2185501You guys who hate G9 are funny. I ditched G8 because to me it looks like 50 times worse than G9. But there are people who might think I'm infected with some kind of mind virus for thinking this. Also I'm hoping for solutions that don't involve the steps that would be required for me to learn an entire different software and skill in order to reach a possible solution.
August 24, 2026 at 2:55 AM #2185512Oftentimes, because the asset is 'supposed to' work in Studio, the solution is often in Studio as well.
If the shell works fine on some but the ridge appears on others, then discerning what differs between the two groups is what I would investigate. It could be a morph active in some but not in others is interfering. Could be a hidden activated morph. Load a figure you know it works on AND one you know it doesn't. Apply the Platinum Palace to each. Turn on the Show Hidden Properties in Parameters and scroll through the Currently Used for both figures for potentially interfering corrective morphs, JCMs, etc. Turn the active ones (any above or below 0%) on and off and observe.
Could also be a resolution issue, a collision issue, a smoothing issue...
The gist: Start somewhere and try to isolate the problem. When you know what it isn't, you're closer to knowing what it is.
August 24, 2026 at 8:37 AM #21855403Demon I appreciate your response. I have looked through the currently used under hidden parameters and found nothing. I have a question for you though, have you ever encountered assets that automatically load dialed at 100% because the slider was probably mistakenly made to be at default on the figure no matter what figure you load? Because I have for instance of the vendor VOOTW has made characters that load at 100% even when loading just the base figure. So the question is I'm wondering if there is a way to search for sliders that are maxed but they wouldn't show under currently used because the slider is considered to be part of the default model?
Not sure if that makes sense or not I'm having a little difficulty trying to explain what I mean there.
August 24, 2026 at 9:25 AM #2185550Can you share a picture of the problem? If it's a problem to share it in the chat, you can send it to me a link in private. I'd be curious to look at it. Oh and if you can give me some example of a body with which it happens... best way to figure out something is by recreating the circumstances. We'll know if it's just on your end or not. I have that product too.
August 24, 2026 at 9:53 AM #2185553Are the seams appearing on the default A-pose or after posing a character?
If they are appearing after posing, then it could be triggered by character specific JCMs or other morphs that cannot propagate/influence the geograft.
If they are appearing before posing, then gradually dial the character's body morph dial, starting from 0, to isolate the offending morph.
There is "PropertyController.dsa" script that you can find from the links here that can show all loaded morphs on a figure. If you cannot find the script there, then try searching with the script name. Run it both before and after posing the figure.
August 24, 2026 at 10:44 AM #2185554So can I just slap that script into the scripts tab in daz and press enter to run it? Sorry I've never used the scripts tab before.
August 24, 2026 at 11:37 AM #2185555You can. Just ask any of the free AIs (such as the one from Google search) to guide you with step by step instructions and handhold you in case of issues. You can even create a shortcut in the menus to invoke the script on demand.
August 24, 2026 at 5:02 PM #2185578Maybe I will upload a cropped image to show the issue when I get some time. I also need to fiddle with this script as well. I appreciate the input from everyone.
August 24, 2026 at 8:14 PM #2185587@jabaduhut Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I was under the impression that all characters load at 100%. Why wouldn't they? They are intended to appear as the character. <shrug>
EDIT: I deleted a paragraph that in retrospect seemed not pertinent after all.
As for, "[is there] a way to search for sliders that are maxed but they wouldn't show under currently used because the slider is considered to be part of the default model?" There may be a script or plugin for diagnosing such a thing. But I don't know of it.
UPDATE: I've now tried the Platinum Palace on literally dozens of figures and haven't noticed any undue distortions. Perhaps you need to be more specific regarding the problem.
