I have been playing with Daz Face Transfer 2 and actually got one that looked half decent. However, the skins used by Face Transfer 2 is of very low quality and of course the morph created by Face Transfer 2 is terrible so the texture wrap around the head is the only reason the likeness does not look like crap.
I am wondering what would be the options to upscale/improve said textures for someone with no clue of how skin texture artists do their job.
October 25, 2025 at 5:24 PM #2150308There are no morphs with Face Transfer. It only generates new skin mats for the base G8 or G9 character. Attempts to upscale the jpg/png files will give wonky results at least half the time. But I believe if you use G9, it generates normal, bump, and SS maps, which create a more realistic look. G8 is for shit when it comes to FT from what I've seen.

Unless you're willing to invest a decent amount of time color matching and blending a face onto an existing skin or creating one from scratch, you're probably going to get poor-mediocre results unless you luck up on a matching skin face combo somehow.
Ive not invested much time into it because what little ive messed with I didn't like. Its basically cut and paste a face with burned in things like makeup, shadows, highlights, ect...
My suggestion is find an existing daz skin that is similar to who you want to duplicate. Find a morph duplicating this person and then add personal touches. Either that or start compiling hi-rez rips of this person's skin and make your own texture.

I've found that too mate and usually the texture is the only reason the character looks like the person it's supposed to be. Change the texture and the likeness disappears. The burnt in shadows also look terrible. If you want realistic lookalikes you might want to think about using AI [runs for cover].October 26, 2025 at 1:49 AM #2150341Thanks everyone, I am going to put Face Transfer 2 to the dust bin. FT2 with G9 is an vast improvement over the joke that is FT1 but still not worth the time if the texture is such low quality.
PS: Are you sure sure FT2 does not change head morph? It generated some really weird shapes from pictures where the hair is draping over the face.
October 26, 2025 at 4:07 PM #2150417you can try facegen, its far superior than face transfer when it comes to generating skins
