In the request section there's a request for Peacock Jewelry Set for G8F and G9 which is free. Are we allowed to fill it since it's actually free? Isn't it against the rules to share it for points?
A mod will be able to answer more definitively, but I think this might be an exception.
Since this "free" product still requires to sign up to a site, fill out account information, etc. Making a request means the filler goes to that trouble, and the requesters don't have to.Personally there are some circumstances where I'd pay 500 pts for that 🙂 for whatever that's worth.
I think the real issue is with free content that can be freely downloaded with just a link. That shouldn't cost anyone points.
It'd be nice to be able to ulpload limited freebies. I missed 2 years of Christmas, Easter and Halloween freebies and I can't find anything online.
You need to register there to get it, so you can fill it, go for it 🙂
We don't mind the free stuff, but if you can get something with literally just one click (without even registering like stuff from Kemono etc), its a dick move to get points for it. It's better to notify folks, then accept the tips 🙂 We only started to look out for the free stuff when some users thought its a good idea to shit out 100 blog posts with free to DL items from Renderhub, Renderosity and Kemono and farm points with them.Thanks for the info @warrant63 . I'll go on the lookout to find the freebies I missed and make a couple of requests 🙂

There are some generous people who regularly post links to free stuff in the free stuff section.

I did notice the Community menu on the main menu bar only shows General Chat, Request, and Art Showcase. Doesn't show any other sections from the full forum list. And Request has been closed for business since the new request system got off the ground, so that's only like two sections with any big visibility...
Too bad the about the art competition, it seems to be deserted. I might not have posted a lot of images back in the day, but I really liked seeing all the entries and voting 🙂
I've suggested they add those areas to the pull down menu for years and/or restructure the menu all together.
Only thing keeping the contest zone alive is the occasional member gets bored with having to many points but participation is often the same members. Mods don't care anymore.
Half the people that enter use AI anyway.Would be nice to see something push the community other than people logging in to download stuff. I want, I need.
You should be allowed to post most free stuff to the blog.
I'd rather pay the 50 points than go and register to some place just to get the download for free.
