Could I ask: What's the benefit of fulfilling a request but setting the days of delay higher since pledges have already been made? Do people continue to pledge when they see it in the upcoming?

November 27, 2024 at 10:29 PM #21050661. You can't "pledge" when the item is already on the blog. The new request will be removed. Tho you can PM the author aka the filler anytime to ask for a link.
2. It's the filler's choice. They bought the item and decided to share the files with us, so it's their right to decide whether to post it on the blog instantly, setting a 1-30 day delay for it or skip the public blog post altogether. This is a voluntarily sharing community...
Also please read the rules.November 28, 2024 at 12:14 AM #2105076As someone that's submitted I'm trying to figure out what benefit I would get from making people wait to access the item?
November 28, 2024 at 12:56 AM #2105079you get no benefit other than possibly getting more points by filling requests before its released.
Some people however want to delay the post for a few possible reasons.
1. They want to wait because it gives the seller time to make money off of the product. This gives the person stealing the item a warm fuzzy feeling inside by legitimizing the theft.
2. They want to stop others from posting the item while they milk it for points before its released.
3. They like making people wait and that gives them a warm fuzzy feeling.
4. They are paranoid and don't want to release an item 3 seconds after they brought it because big brother might track them down.
There may be other reasons but this is all I could think of
November 28, 2024 at 2:31 AM #2105086DO people continue to pledge points after it's posted as upcoming knowing it'll be released regardless?
November 28, 2024 at 3:35 AM #2105093^ Yes they do. Sometimes someone will make a second request (and so on), as they missed out on the first one.
Personally as someone who fills items - I like put a number of days in, as it generally puts the item on hold from appearing on other sites.
