Cant go into most businesses without seeing workers on cellphones ignoring customers. Id terminate the instantly.
The sociopolitical events of the last 20 years have raised a generation of extreme nihilists. There's nothing to be gained from doing more than the bare minimum in any aspect of life.
I'm going to die in the midst of a global climate catastrophe with student loans around my neck (they'll probably figure out a way to put my corpse to work to pay them off), and that's if I'm not carted off to some kind of re-education camp next time a fascist is in power, why the hell would I give a shit about helping some asshole find the raisins?

Don't disbelieve everything you hear.Seeing how I'm not a prisoner of my country. Can travel relatively freely without needing to be a billionaire or have government connections. Haven't disappeared because of rude statements I've made about our political situation. Im going to lean a bit more towards what media I am allowed to view vs the media the government forces me to watch.
Seeing how some countries are deciding that this is MINE all of a sudden, Im gonna assume certain leaders don't really give a shyt who they sacrifice on the alter of change and could really care less what you or I think.

Just because something doesn't align with the political narrative doesn't mean that it is BS. Given that much of that walled garden hardly offers any freedom of press reporting to the global media, and even when the local news is based on skewed and manipulated facts driving the party narrative, it is pretty obvious that any insider information that contradicts the political narrative is claimed as false news.
And yes, any non-resident citizen with family members in that home country does care. They themselves may not be subject to the laws of their origin country but their family members back at home bear the brunt of any assumed dissent. That is how the party controls their expatriates.
And not to mention that social credit system that awards anyone to snitch on their relatives and neighbors for suspected dissent from political agenda.
And speaking of sponsorship, its anybody's guess. When you got millionaires (or anyone with enough means) fleeing in droves to escape the reach of communism, you already got an audience. This is not some rival state sponsored propaganda, but citizens exposing their own plight against their government.
Limiting my travel to 2 out of country flights a year is a bit different than telling me, If I attempt to leave the country Ill be shot or imprisoned.
On your next vacation take a trip to North Korea and let me know how wrong the media is on that country. Make a short video of you telling the museum attendants how they got history wrong.
If possible, see if you can somehow get internet access and upload it to YouTube before you attempt to leave.
Ive no doubt some stuff is tinfoil hat BS. Ive also no doubt that if its generally accepted as fact over multiple platforms over multiple decades then more than likely there is at least some truth to it.
I don't think General Chat extends to fights over politics, or religion.
