Just a quick shout-out to @griyar for the posed human props.

Really useful for crowded streets and the like. No need to dress and pose multiple figures which will bring Daz or Poser to its knees the more you add. Of course you need loads of these ready posed people so as not to use them more than once ~ so thanks for the loads of people 🙂

Totally agree! Many thanks to @griyar!

I use billboards a lot but these props are MUCH more convenient as they are 3d, you dont have to adjust them all the time! Also they are realistic enough to be used not only heavily defocused but can be in focus just as the main target (not so with billboards). Only caveat is that they can be more realistic than the DAZ figures...

Griyar, if you happen to have themed props like wild-west, victorian, medieval etc - it would be wonderful!

@griyar , he's right. I've been grabbing these things like a crack addict.

The NowCrowd billboards were okay, but they were a bit too stylized, and if you shifted the camera, you had to shift all the billboards, which made them look unnatural sometimes (e.g. walking into a wall, etc). Until now, most of the lo-poly figures sucked - they did great in the distance, but not up-close. Now, I have a pile of figures that look good even when close-by.

    You did good here.

These look amazing! Thanks @griyar and out of curiosity, are there any of these that are more "sci-fi" or cyberpunk style... futuristic outfits, maybe even with some androids and aliens?

I'm more amazed by the time it would have taken to convert the file formats for all the models. That alone deserves special recognition. I've done it myself in Blender and it's a PITA.

    @Griyar
    - did you use some sort of batch process?

handy for sure, and much appreciated! some feedback, if you don't mind: if you're going through the trouble of converting, it wouldn't hurt to optimize (at least the textures) a bit. The last post was ~1GB as posted, because it's full of both textures that weren't used, and textures in TGA format, which is needlessly big, especially for items like this that inherently aren't suited to close-up renders. I converted and losslessly compressed the image textures, and have the size at about 15% of the posted one. Just a thought.

That's a good idea to reduce the overall file size of the share. It's very common for TGA to be used for these sort of products and they do often come with multiple textures. From my experience there's usually a large (HD) one and a smaller one but I don't know in this case. Sometimes there are separate maps for different parts of the model but usually they have just one for the whole thing. If you can get an 85% reduction in file size that would certainly be something to consider.

Yeah, TGA is fairly common, and I get that for folks buying something they want (or want to feel like) the highest quality, imperceptible though it may be. TGA just tends to be so needlessly large, for zero real benefit. Either way, 10 minutes of work and I had it all tidied up for my own use ... and, it was free so I can't complain either way. 😉

    Well done...
Agree with all above - especially alternative themes, if available.
    Deserves higher points allocation... 🙂

Thanks again. Piracy done right! 🙂

The main market for these figures is architectural visualisation, I think. I've only ever seen humans in modern day clothes, and some pets...

Agreed. @griyar - you did actual work to make these, more than most of us do. 🙂 They could easily go in the custom content category!

I'd say put them up for at least 100pts, if not 150. Well worth it, IMO.
