Hi, i have received an email this week from RH saying they want to give me a refund. The problem is that my account got closed & I'm just a bit worried they are trying to get my name/address as they won't send the money by PayPal etc only a physical check.
The email says -
Regarding your RH account that was closed by one of our admins,
we are required to offer you a refund for content you can no longer access.
Please provide your full name and mailing address where we can send a check.Has anyone else had an email like this before & if so what did you do?

I've literally received the same e-mail today and was wondering if it was a scam to get my physical name and address - can't remember what I signed in to the site with originally now.
I got one of those, already deposited the check. My guess is they did something stupid and got spanked! Good for their dumb asses!
@ZombieGfx did your RH account get closed as well?
They do have all the details correct from the transactions I made. It's not as much as Blackjack got but every penny helps I guess - may respond in a couple of days after more people here have had a look at this.
Do you ALL realize that RH is here reading all these messages, and when you mention amounts refunded they can then identify you? These types of questions should either be asked privately to the admins, or phrased so that it's impossible for RH to link you to your real identity.
When you mentioned a refund for piracy, all the hairs on my neck stood up. Why the hell would anyone do this? Sounds like some kind of trap or scam.
The amount i mentioned wasn't the exact amount but yeah i shouldn't of posted that here, i just copied & pasted the message which was originally sent to an admin who told me to create a post here.
I received a similar email. I've had the same concerns, like what information could they obtain from it, that they don't already have? A confirmation that the data I'd entered when I paid on their store was indeed correct?
And a check? What the fuck?
I'm considering just ignoring their email tbh. Not receiving a "refund" wouldn't make much of a difference to me, while giving them the data they requested, on the other hand... possibly could?I answered this in a PM but I will leave this here too:
1, Like @ethiopia said, they see what you post here, it's an open forum, so be careful.
2, It's weird if you ask me. If there is a rule/law/court order for a refund, they can't close this with a "if you don't respond in 5 days it doesn't matter anymore", like they write it in their email. Also MAYBE they will give you a refund this time, but Rhub is so scummy that I wouldn't trust them with my personal data, beucase they can use it later against you.
+1 Anon PayPal, Store credit and other refund methods exists to.
+2 When they remove an item from their store, that you bought earlier, and it's also disappearing from your download list, shouldn't we get a refund for that as well? Weirdly weird my dudes.
I'm with @tedthelearner on this. The whole thing screams 'scam'.
