I'm not too familiar with zbrush since I mostly use substance painter, but I have some files that are supposed to be alphas that are in zbrush .zbp format. Is there any easy way to convert these to .psd files (without having to go through the hassle of downloading and installing zbrush just to convert a few files). Anyone know of a way? Thanks

@gts6 Zbp files, normally, are "modeling brushes", so either you use them in ZBrush or they are useless.

@abad yes, that is correct, but... from what i've read (if it is true), there is a way to save/export them from within zbrush so they can be used as alphas in blender and substance painter, but it has to be done from within zbrush.

Not sure if true or not, I dont have zbrush installed, to test). And I really dont want to get and install it just to convert a few files, was hoping someone knew of another way.

@gts6 To be honest with you, ZBrush seems to me a "very hostile" software, apart from its interface. These "3D brushes" are specific to ZBrush, and, encoded in binary, that only ZBrush can "decrypt". It is as if you pretend to use Photoshop "brushes", in ".abr" format in, for example, an Office Excel: It will not understand anything, since it is an "internal and proprietary" format. There is no such thing as "alpha channel" to do it in png, tiff or psd. You'd better forget about it. 🙂

Ok, thanks. I did forget about it ,lol. I found similar brushes already compatible with substance painter.
