Man does that take me back. My sister and I begged our parents to take us to the theatre to see it when it was first released. I still get that rush when I hear the music, and vividly remember the theatre and the popcorn. My Mom wasn't impressed but my Dad said he enjoyed it.
This is an old Poser model isn't it?

Looks like it's seen better days. I remember watching A Hard Day's Night at the cinema in 1964 as a kid. Yes I'm that old.

I feel like such a child around here compared to my other social groups lol. My parents had a copy of this when it was re-released that I watched as a kid, I think that's about the extent of my exposure to the Beatles though.

Old Beatles freak here ... saw them at Shea Stadium in NY back in the day and took in all the movies, from Hard Day's Night on (silly but fun to watch as a teen).

So @Hocko, is it true that the teen/preteen girls there were fainting and wetting themselves? Tom Jones said he's now too old for his fans to still be throwing their underwear at him.
You could write a PHD thesis (and I'm sure some have) on the causes of Beatlemania. Personally I find that level of hysteria and idolisation rather disturbing.

@frank22, I was up in the nose-bleed section, but I did see a lot of jumping up and down and screaming (no fainting). Being a virile 13 year old male at the time, I would've been willing to help any female in distress but, alas, my assistance wasn't needed. Besides, I was with an older male cousin who would've beat me to the punch in a NY minute. It was an experience I'll never forget ... and am still amazed that my parents fronted me the money to get a ticket and allowed me to go. 😉

I've seen footage of the Beatlemania (as well as some Elvis performances) and to this day it just seems.. Well the best I can say is "demonically possessive". I mean to this day not once have I even heard of anyone going THAT wild over a musical group. I think the weed must have something to do with it, lol.

Can anybody think of a reason WHY a crowd of teenage girls would even react that way?

Not in the same league but the recent scramble over Taylor Swift tickets in my country was close to mass hysteria. Even people who said they didn't like her much just had to get one.... because everyone else was, stupid 🤪. Humans are not far from animals and I guess the herding instinct is part of out genetic make up.
