I had to at least have a look at G9 so DL some stuff to get an image together. I spent the whole morning stuffing around to get a half decent Pixie 9 render. All the G9 textures were crap so I used a G8 one. I can't see myself going through the pain again and I think I'll delete G9 from my library. It's just not worth the effort.
1. G9 and the character FBM loaded OK
2. Had to use Legacy UVs (geoshell) for the G8 texture
3. Had to make a new texture map for the gens
4. Had to use a geograph for the navel and transfer texture
5. The Genesis 3 and 8 to 9 Pose Converter failed.. probably due to me being on 4.15 so had to use the Rendo freebie pose transfer script
6. The Pixie 9 expressions worked really well
7. The Altern8 Skin Shader System (G8) for skin shine worked well despite Pixie being G9
After 4.5 hours the Pixie moneyshot was a bit on an anticlimax when I could have produced much the same with G8/8.1 in 15 minutes.Maybey there is not enough material for G9 to go round. I ,ean, there are tons of stuff foor G8 and G3 for they have been around for a while.
Maybey we say the same when G10 comes out...You're probably right @Gaver but as it stands G9, by folly or intent, is a model severely lacking in usability. I say intent because Daz may well have released a lackluster G9 with the intention of generating future sales of all the stuff needed to correct its usability deficiencies. If you look at their shop now most of the stuff are add-ons to bash base G9 into the usability that G8 had. Granted they played the same game with all previous generations.... release a deficient model and you need to pay through the nose to fix it.

Too much grief for me, too. I won't be going down G9 road. And I won't in the least be regretful about it. (...until I see that "perfect" G9-only character drop, perhaps)
The price of more crap in my runtime, with very little payout (tried the G9 to G8 maps, and that's lackluster as well), is just too high. Done with it until impressed. And I'm - still - just not.@Spats - I have since got the G9 toon character/s to play with. It's ironic that with Daz pushing hard on the "realism" thing, the only G9 people I think remotely worthwhile are the highly stylised non-realistic ones. On the Daz forums I've never seen such a poor reception for a new model, and I've been doing this stuff for more than 20 years.

As for G9 fantastic features all I can think of is the better expressions. Are there other ones?

I'm still trying to discover the amazing revelations of 9.
Allusing are stating similar.Allusing are frustrated with pitfalls and unnecessary improvements and healings. I don't even appreciate the original body morph/shape at the onset. WTF. Pay this much for what? Myeah not yet try harder.
EDIT: Retracting "all". People into 9 are into 9. And PAs are doing good work with it as well (bluejaunte talent), and improving the improvements. Maybe it will be me and others one day, who knows. TBD

Maybe a message from Sasquatch for G9 would get the point across. LOL.Cute pixies. @Frank22 I'm surprised you didn't like the base skin for her. I haven't used Pixie yet, but the other G9 textures I've used have been very good.
As for G9 overall, the expressions and eyes look better to me. As G9 assets grow over the next few months, I suspect it'll be the best figure for portraits and close ups.
That said, I agree the G9 release has been a trainwreck.
It's also the figure the good vendors are using now. If you want the latest Bluejaunte characters (I do), G9 is it. And the recent Minerva release looks fantastic.
I'm still using G8/8.1 for all of my stuff. But I'm collecting G9 assets because I know I'll use it more eventually. The biggest issue is the lack of a high quality character morph transfer.
@Frank22 - what @enjoyify said - I fully agree. The possibilities with the face of G9 are crazy, and with more morph packs to come, it can only get even wilder. Minerva looks indeed fantastic. Is that a Bluejaunte character @enjoyify ? - Love the products from this vendor/artist, why I bought most of it. I only just began exploring G9, and it seems that posing also is a step up, compared to previous characters, but I might be wrong. Looking forward to the Holidays for more G9 tweaking, and redering.

@Frank22 Have you tried the Victoria 9 "freckled" textures?
