Pay for warez ?

Hello all,

Out of curiosity, and because I did not know this online shop (or what I thought was an online shop), I followed the link provided by one of our kind posters after he uploaded a new 3D asset here at ZoneGfx.

At first glance, the site looked "legit" even if I found the "buy credits" system a little odd since asset prices are displayed in $.

On the left side of the page, a menu was offering an option "Other formats -> Daz Studio / Poser" on which I clicked. And there, in front of me, was displayed a list of assets that I already saw on the DAZ Store, on Renderotica and others... I clicked one of them and found it at 9$ when the same asset in the DAZ store costs 16.95$.

On Cheap3Dmodel, no mention of the artist, compatibility and a simple copy/paste of the original description over at DAZ.

And there comes my question because, excuse me, I'm a bit puzzled : is this a legit shop where 3D artist discount their creations ? Because the simple idea of paying for warez is contradictory and I'm a bit lost.

Of course, here at ZoneGfx we have a "currency" in the form of the points we earn by uploading and we spend by downloading. Of course, some contribute to the site with "real" money to help with the fixed costs of hosting and so on... but this is totally different. If this is a legit site, I can understand even if the advantage of selling creations on different sites at different prices is beyond my understanding. But if this is a warez site, this is a brand new concept for me. Are there really people paying real money to download things they could easily find elsewhere ?

I'm sorry for this long post, but I was so disturbed by this finding that I still want to believe it's a real and legit site.
