After a few years learning DAZ I don't feel such a noob anymore.
I can create and pose my characters and I know the limitations of my PC:
I can only work with 3Delight because my old PC will never handle Iray.
I can change morphs until I'm happy with the results
and I think I'm an "expert" (LOL) in creating transgender characters,
because I have spent hundreds of hours working on them,
adding male genitalia to female figures,
converting Iray materials to 3Delight, playing with lights, etc.
My renders in 3Delight take about 20 minutes, which is acceptable,
and my final results are also acceptable for my purposes:
creating porn comics and stories.
Lately I have been looking for "old stuff", you know, Genesis 3 characters
with 3Delight materials and such.
When I watch 3D porn comics online I think I recognize Genesis 3 characters everywhere, and then I say: "Hey, that's Vicky!"Now I'm curious about how to animate my characters to make porn movies.
What would be an animation software for a beginner?
Of course. it must be compatible with DAZ characters, I think the right format is FBX files.
Probably my PC will not handle an animation software, since it can't even handle Iray on DAZ,
but I would like to try anyway.Thanks ♥
You should try genesis 8.1 they made it so you can add different genitalia to each gender afaik. For animation you can try to animate within Daz Studio even if it's not the best thing in the world it works and you don't have to go through the trouble of porting your characters to a new program and learning all the things in there as well. I personally use Daz to animate.
Oh, well I have been ignoring Genesis 8.1 since it was released
because it must be Iray only.
But the genitalia thing is something new and I have to try it!
I can always convert Iray to 3Delight anyway.
And yes I will start playing with the animation tools in DAZ first.

I'd suggest if you're going into animation territory you should consider upgrading your PC specs. If a still render takes you 20 minutes, and many animation blocks involve up to 1000 frames like Stimuli's... you do the maths. I would love to do animation myself and my scenes take a similar time as yours with an RTX 2080, but I don't have the patience to wait for hours and hours and hours. Unless you're just going to do short low-rez loops for gifs, animation is a big ask.
The truth is that I do not understand your intention to "make porn movies". Obviously your PC doesn't have a Daz-enabled GPU, don't mind that. Doing it with 3dLigth is not a problem, but the render time per image "shoots up", just like in Iray. I don't recommend any of them.Better, export to Cinema 4D (there are cracked torrent links ..) and you do them through "Birdge" with C4d's own render. (You can use Arnold, who works on CPU, not GPU ... He detects it right away ...) But the truth is that "making a porn video with Daz" is one of the most surreal ideas I've ever seen. ... Are there no real porn video sites?!!! LOL

Animating in Daz is an insane exercise. (Much more if you do not have a graphics card of about $ 1000/2000 ...)
The only thing I advise Kerry Nova is to get a new card or computer, and to do it in Cinema 4d or Maya / MotionBuilder with an Arnold, Octane or Redshift type rendering engine. Iray is time slow: It is obsolete.
Moving Daz characters to these programs is easy, apart from the fact that they are created for animation, not a photo render like Daz."The older [porn] stuff from the 70’s and 80’s was much better". Adab said. Yeh it certainly was back then. Today it's too stark for me... no hint of romance or love let alone any hint of a story-line or normal people. I suppose it's a sign of the times.... instant gratification.

I did a small test with my new RTX 3090 and a 1600:1200 with one female genesis 8 character in a low detailed environment took my machine 2 days straight to render totaling 240 frames. Like others have said, if this took my beast GPU a long time to render, then you seriously want to buy something better. You could go the route of lowering the detail and polygons to make it faster as well, which I will do next time.
