can anyone help... its been like that for a month now... is it because i got a lot of content installed
October 26, 2019 at 8:01 PM #1301942Can you elaborate more on what you are doing when it lag ?
Is there something in your scene at that moment ?
A picture of your interface would maybe help. Because just like that, the reason for the lag could be anything. (Either comming from Daz itself or your computer.)
October 27, 2019 at 2:53 AM #1302315Even on a new install of windows and Daz
I have like 1tb of content so I think that is the main problemOctober 27, 2019 at 3:27 AM #1302339I had the same problem. It is all the content. Even when I started fresh, If I loaded everything in (Over 2TB) it goes to a drag on everything.
Not sure there is a solution.
October 27, 2019 at 4:36 AM #1302374I haven't tried, but I imagine that if you were to use custom installs (instead of using Daz IM) you could break up the libraries enough that Studio would not have to sort through so much all at once - for instance, use one library for V3 & 4, use another for Gen 2, another for Gen 3, etc - and point Studio at each library individually instead of just one library for Daz formats and another for Poser formats

October 27, 2019 at 9:02 PM #1303362You most likely will not find a tutorial on this, unless @eelgoo has one in his thread on how to keep libraries more manageable - you can look at his thread here.
To point Studio at different libraries, on the menu bar on top, go to Edit, Preferences (or press F2) then go to the Content tab and click the Content Manager bar. There, you can edit where Studio looks for the different libraries that you want to set up.October 28, 2019 at 7:37 PM #1304644wow thank you everyone
October 28, 2019 at 7:57 PM #1304658In actual fact it is very simple.
From the Content Library tab, right click on 'Daz Studio Formats' at the upper left hand side.
'Add a Base Directory' pops up as the first option.
Select it.
It then allows you to add a new 'My Library'
Navigate to where you want it, create new folder & save.
It will then appear in the Content Library tree.
You then need to install the content in the new library location.
🙂
October 28, 2019 at 9:11 PM #1304736Holy Fart Noodles in a see-through Barrel.. I can DO THAT? Not that I have issues with lagging but it would make my work flow SOOO much faster if I could make libraries for specific content, like scifi, fantasy, modern, to skip having to scroll forever.
I have my zip content set up in individual folders like that. Makes it much easier and faster when I need to search to see if I already have something or not.October 29, 2019 at 3:42 PM #1305700 -
