So I recently realized that I can basically get models from video games into Daz via a convoluted process going through XNALara and Blender to import the clothes, hair, etc. onto any given Genesis or other Daz model.

But I'm totally stuck on how to get the skin textures onto Genesis. I tried a quick and dirty lining up the imported textures to a Gen8 one, but when applied to the model the lips and eyes weren't quite where they were supposed to be. I'd really rather not go the Photoshop the heck out of the textures route if I can avoid it, but I'm thinking that might be the best option. Maybe I can do something in Substance Painter? Anyone with more experience have any suggestions?

A bit late maybe, but what you could try to semi-automate the texture projection is to morph the Genesis model into the game figure's shape. Retopology is the key term. Can be done manually in a 3D program or using an automated tool. After that you might be able to bake / project the textures of the game figure onto the Genesis model in Substance or another texturing tool.

This should work because morphing the Genesis mesh doesn't change the UV maps, which define where pixels on the mesh surface are mapped in texture space. So the color baker can match geometry, and transfer the pixels to the right place according to the Genesis models' UV map.
