So Goblyn, I dunno how useful this advice would be to you, but getting a basic VPN would save you from getting yelled at by your ISP over torrenting. The good ones can be set up in such a way as to be very easy to turn on and off - or lightweight enough to leave on all the time - so they're not necessarily a big hassle. The hardest part is finding one that both does what you want and isn't pricey.

Personally, I sprung for one that's bundled with my anti-malware service, but there are also lots of "free" VPNs - meaning they make their money either indirectly or by luring non-paying users into paying for extra features. But some of them are pretty usable even so. Maybe read over this?
