Nice find @ethiopia. I don't like hard drives lying around on my desk and the forest of cables needed to connect them either.

As you point out, a NAS is nice but :
1- it's expensive
2- unless you only use standard RAID 1 and not the proprietary systems offered by the various brands, in the event of controller failure it's bye bye to the data (in reality it's recoverable, but a real pain to do).

The system you've found is 60% cheaper than a Synology 4-bay NAS, no operating system, no rights to manage, just a nice 4-disk rack to put on your desk to keep things tidy and have your data available when you need it. I love it!

I don't see what's stopping you from having disks of different sizes. In my opinion, the RAID they talk about in the presentation must be a software RAID managed by Windows, but I wouldn't dare go down that road too much with USB disks (unless they've implemented their own RAID but, once again, be careful not to end up in the situation you've just experienced again).

@eelgoo: the only clothing set I have tried so far for v4 is the regular V4.2 bodysuit (SKU 4829) and I was unable to find the texture in my library (neither DAZ nor Poser) - I’ll make sure to have a look at what’s available for her, thanks

@franck22: I’ll certainly go down the V4 path because I’ve read too much about it to not give it a try. As for your kinky links, I’ll probably give it a try to 🙂

Little tip : for optimized render times, once satisfied with my setup and test previews, I usually render directly to file with no preview window.

Ironically enough, I only store volatile and unimportant data online (like my shares here).
All my important things are local only : 2 separate Synology servers, one at home with 4 6TB drives and another one at work with the same config. Auto sync at home, night transfer to the secondary server.

That's only two copies if you exclude the data on the live computers but hey, at least I have one off-site.

Well, no luck,

The TruForms City asset works fine, but the TruForms City Abandoned one apparently is missing some files.
Even after decompressing all the archives provided with the package (Poser ones included), some files are absent.

For example, TRCbuilding05Door1.obj is nowhere to be seen, when TRCbuilding05.obj is OK.

Either those files are misspelled in their names or the reference file loading the scene has them misspelled... in either case, even after fiddling around between directories
C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library
or
C:\Users\usename\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library
and also installing the Poser version and manually injecting OBJ files in both Runtime\geometries\TruForm\TruForms City folders (created manually), no luck in having it work properly.

Sorry, I guess we'll have to wait for a "patch".
