Greatest thanks! R3DS Wrap 2020.12.2 does really work under Windows 7, and used Python 3.8. For me personally, it's the nice workaround, because I want to use Wrap for simple shape transferring for DAZ, so I need not any professional complex options. So far I tested it twice and it makes wrapping easier. And I can easily select point pairs in the editor, which I cannot remember in Wrap 3 and earlier versions. Although, it's a pity that newest versions of Wrap 2024 conflict with Windows 7.
March 20, 2025 at 7:18 PM #2122448Thanks for tha answer, but I use old good Win 7, because it's much simpler for tuning, less buggy and very much tolerant to any illegal software, which I prefer to download in the places like here. At least, through more than 12 years of usage, I have never had any blocking problems with such software under Win 7. And I got used to the UI. When I have to work with Win 8 or 10 occasionally, it is very frustrating to me. In everyday life I use a notebook, not a tower PC, so I cannot add there any other HDD and the only option for me is usage of an external HDD with Win 8 or 10, although it's bit tricky. Maybe, I 'll try this workaround some time later.
As for Wrap, I found of the latest versions (Wrap 2023.10.3) which I can install and launch on my OS, but I cannot work within it (no selecting points or splines) because of their Python version. As I learned recently, formerly they used Python 3.8.3, which works with Win 7, and now they use Python 3.9.0, it doesn't work fully. Are there any earlier version of Wrap with Python 3.8.3?February 4, 2022 at 2:48 AM #1773068Thanks for links, I'm glad to hear that those DAZ enthusiasts work to make Reality free for all, but so far I do not see any success. As I understand, their raw sources from Github require to be compiled - the task not for a regular user like myself. And I tested the old Reality 4.2 archive I installed log ago on my old PC and this version works completely offline (I plugged out the modem to be sure). As I remember, it was registered offline too. But I'd like to use newer Reality 4.3 with newer DAZ versions from DS 4-11, because the old Reality versions give a crash often by unknown reasons.I suspect that this online server is necessary only for legal registration of this software. By the way, which version of DS is final for that plugin? I've read somewhere that Reality 4.3 doesn't work in DS above 4.12 or 4.13 - does it mean that I'll have to seek for another render engine at all for all newest DAZ Studio updates?
December 2, 2017 at 9:52 AM #411867I'm absolutel agree with Ethiopia, by my own experience, Poser crashes too often to work comfortably and I chose DAZ at last. My version of Poser 2012 appears to be the most stable on my PC, so I don't want to replace it with Poser 11 so far. But I'd like to test these new figures and content and cannot find them anywhere so far - neither separate Pauline (base, not Pauline Plus), nor Paul. I seemingly managed to find the working torrent with Poser 11, but it is slow seeding and I cannt install all Posser yet. And I am looking for Poser content update 4, which has Paul figure within. If you have this Content Update, share it please, even in main blog postings! For me, it's another great advantage of DAZ Studio, that they made it free and all base Genesis essentials are available separately for free too. And all the rest morphs and addons can be downloaded all over the web. With Poser, it's a headache to find appropriate content for its figures, and figures themselves.
November 25, 2017 at 11:17 PM #405012OK, so it means I need to install all Poser 11, just to install one or several its content packs with humans? I downloaded Poser 11 Nudes from a torrent for test but could not install it without installed Poser 11 (although I have Poser 2012 installed). The EXE installer is looking at first for installed Poser.exe but doesn't accept Poser 2012 exe in Program Files, when searching manually. I created new fake Poser 11 folder (Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser 11\Poser.exe as I saw in one of Youtube videos. But it doesn't help, the content installer requires only real Poser 11. So their new figures are unavailable for older Poser. OK, I'll try to install Poser 11 and pick them out anyhow from its runtime.
November 24, 2017 at 5:58 PM #403580Oh, it's bad news. It seems that newer Poser may change the format of zipped files or something, I'm not quite sure because I've never updated my old poser from 2012, and use it very seldom. Although I hoped after a little conversion I will be able to use this couple and all related content in DAZ Studio. What was the name of that particular Poser content package which contains them? I found two possible ones - Clothed and Reference figures and Nude figures. Which one should I download and can I install this content addons to my old Poser without installing all the Poser 11 (in that torrent all content packages come as EXE installers.) If I get any luck, I'll try to pull them out and post them by myself.
November 24, 2017 at 5:39 AM #403027I have the older Poser 2012 installed and can read and convert OBZ files, and as I remember, OBZ files can be unzipped manually. In short, conversion to more usable format is not a big problem, the main problem is where to find these freebie figures without all Poser 11. If you have it and can upload here, it would be great. And I'm pretty sure these separate packages exist somewhere in the web, but I'm an ever-unlucky googler.
November 23, 2017 at 11:01 PM #402759Hello! I'm looking for this tool also. Did you get it? If you have Texture Transformer, couldn't you share it within a post at this blog? I found Texture Transformer Female Add-on Pack and Texture Transformer Male Add-on Pack in web, but I could not find the TT itself. So I would be very grateful for posting as many others. I found Blacksmith3D Standard 6.3.1.0 posted here without TT and Blacksmith3D Pro V7 Trial with TT included - can Blacksmith3D Pro V7 be used (somehow) with Blacksmith3D Standard 6.3.1.0 license?
