WOW! Nice find @Warrant63! I think I found the original that might have caused the copyright issue:

The hinge is slightly different, and the daz version has the top center headlight, but it's clearly baaed on this model (or what ever inspired this one!)

Yup, you found the original where my quest had started. I thought, "I don't remember that droid being part of that bundle," and of course, it wasn't.
I've combed daz and rendo and haven't found it. Yet.

The actor in that photo is Steve Franken, a really funny character actor who played a ton of comic roles mostly in the 60's and 70's.
I mean, just look at that expression on his face!

I also found this image among the promo's for it:
Looks like a match to me...
So in the DAZ sizzler reel, they didn't even use the model but just cut it out of this image, did a bit of color work on it and pasted it into the clip. Wow.
