Paul(Fuzzy3000), warrant63;
I admit I could be wrong about what I thought was the refund of 50 credits or why- or even if it could be smokescreen to keep a legitimate scammer from looking less suspicious to some of the people they intended to scam, and the refund or reprocess looking like one was itself legit and did occur- but I am sure it was returned to me; that said, I am not adverse to or unaware of how clever the modern mechanics of this sort of thing can be.
I'm not positing or implying Matt/michael25xa is or is not a scammer, I wouldn't know anyway. My original posting intent was to alert them/OP and the ZoneGFX userbase that two of the OP's posts on the same day, hosted on the same hosting site had gone dead less than 72 hours after the original submission upon my purchase, which is in fairness on the honour system as a user here and can be exploited; it usually isn't but of course it can.

December 20, 2023 at 10:04 AM #2049269Honestly, knowing that was what happened makes me feel a lot better, but it's still good to hear it anyway even if I'd doubted briefly, and I think I did. Gut reaction but I fought it off, and that's a lot better than where I would've been years back. A few years ago I know my reaction would be a lot worse, so I'm glad I'm where I am now and believed more in pilot error than somebody pulling a snatch and grab, which frankly wouldn't be like anyone I've met on ZoneGFX and the userbase thus far.
Matt, when and if you read this, thank you. Every time I know someone cares enough to make the effort even though from the outside in it's going to look like In 2023, Fishiness Was Happening, it reinforces my belief in others. I've been in that spot myself, a very long time ago, when the first dial-up modem I owned died and I never figured everyone I knew I was out of touch with would think the worst of it, but I got the stick for it and no-one ever believed me, then or since. I tried not to think like that, even so long ago. I'm glad I still try not to think anything other than that by personal modum and tone.
By the way, I'm pretty sure now I know why 50 credits suddenly reappeared in my account after I posted Matt in DM about that first dead link- if it was me, I'd likely be a bit unsure of how I'd be responded to and it was the best thing he could do, if it was him. I can't think of any other reason it would've happened, so once again Matt, thank you.

Yeah, and that's why I'm cautious and took this route instead, and why by that lack of clarity in the revised UI I will be putting in a support ticket. I don't mistrust ZoneGFX the site or the core admin, but I won't not be careful when something doesn't look right to me and assume no risk in flying blind. 'Click the right one' is not practical, 'Properly marked' is simple sense and courtesy; normalized ambivalence rather than maintained clarity and reliable default is a hazard, not nearly good enough.

December 15, 2023 at 1:09 PM #2048505Paul/Fuzzy3000,
It's all good. I'm not going to assume malfeasance unless there's a broader pattern cropping up in the user's behaviour one or more of us find but for the moment I won't touch any of their posts, mostly because it if wasn't deliberate and there was no intentional crap being pulled I'd prefer to give them time to respond if they genuinely don't know about it and no harm was meant. Again, I don't know what Bunkrr's policies are to takedown request, for example, as I think it's only been used broadly as a posting site for users here over the last handful of months.
Gladson1976,
I knew it was one of the two buttons but I didn't know which one; the UI's changes per page on ZoneGFX since the summer don't make it clear (there are two [REPORT] buttons that are visually identical per my browser's display at client-end, and nothing comes up at the bottom of the browser to identify which does what in the bar at the bottom, not name nor linkout URL) and lately I've been more cautious than usual about clicking on any button I can't identify. I'm considering putting in a support ticket to request the return of a button specifically for reporting dead links which has been absent for at least a few months now.

April 4, 2023 at 7:07 PM #1951694Holy crumpets! <3 I wasn't remotely expecting a gift as big as that, so thank you very much for the 1,000 points. I apologize if my tone came across as being upset or stressed; I wasn't at all, just had been disappointed that my goof ended up spending the 50 credits and also resulted in my not getting the model link initially.
The responses you and Mxyzptlk have made to my original post, and two strangers but fellow users and DAZ modelling enthusiasts doing me each a kindness, have really made my last couple of days, and thank you both for that.

April 3, 2023 at 11:22 PM #1951115I'll make sure I remember that from now on, thank you for both that clarification and reference from now on, and for the kindness of sending a hundred points my way, good chummer! I just posted you a private message in thanks (and I'm happy I still remembered how to spell Mr. Mxyzptlk's name from DC Comics), but I'll sustain my thanks to you here as well.
I've really enjoyed coming here to ZoneGFX over the last four months, and I am sorry I've been quiet until now. I mean, I've been quiet because I've been having a lot of fun, but it is important to be grateful even in the calm of silence.

April 3, 2023 at 9:37 PM #1951101Hey there! I initially had the same trouble for a very big single-file Mega download (somewhere in the realm of 11GB for one ZIP) and the limit is usually 5-6GB for every six hours; I know it can vary somewhat but it keeps around that limit.
The Mega Desktop App is a lot more reliable for me as a 'leave it alone until it starts again' option than leaving a browser tab open, as it doesn't depend on the browser staying open if you need to reboot it. It's safe as add-ons go as far as I've been able to tell and it's a lot more robust in managing your personal Mega cloud folder and downloads.
I agree with you about it being a massive pain in the butt to have to wait six hours longer to finish half a file that could be downloaded in far less time than that.
