Open to a lot of perspective. Not sure Id want to do 4 renders unless we just pick one. May be a little to open ended. Where I live we get snow about every 6 years and it rarely last more than a day.

Sit's been basically non or barely functional for days - not terribly surpricing tnh.

I'll be in to enter and put in for the pot.

My favouted themes would be Cyberopunk or Post-apoc (given that we're gfinally seeing some fallout assets appearing thanks to the TV series) - but realistically I'll go wit hwhatever!

Thanks for your theme suggestion and offer to support the comp Wyrdie. If you look back through some of the old ones you'll see lots of talent and variety. The comps are good fun.

I'd love to participate and I'm open for whatever, but how about a Thief/Dishonoured kinda theme? That has a huge range of possibilities, from the stealthy/dark assassins, to the posh and pomopus, via spiritualistic themes and what I call 'grittypunk'. Just a thought!

I know we already have an AI Category, and a Daz one, what I would like is a category where we could use a third party tool for rendering, scene creation etc. For example Unreal Engine, where Daz characters etc are used in the scene. Wouldnt mind boosting the pot to allow for the extra points needed to make the posts more interesting.

Also how about this, rather that a bunch of specific themes, leave it a bit more open to interpretation and use simple categories.

For example,
Scifi <- could cover everything from space, to dune, to cyberpunk for example.
Horror / mystery <- Everything but without locking it down to anything specific.
Fantasy well thats as broad a category as it gets

This way it would work pretty much for everyone and also leave loads of room for individual artistic interpretation.

I think with the other comps any rendering engines were permitted. The only problem we had in the past was when someone used AI without identifying it as such, so I would make it clear what you've used.

I was also thinking about less restrictive themes but I think it might make the judging harder if it gets too broad. The three you've suggested look fine so long as we clearly identify which theme our entries fall into as there's lots of possible crossover between genres.

Hey guys! I'm finally able to log in again! Sorry I was away for a while, but I couldn't log in, plus I was sick so I really didn't feel like dealing with the waiting game when it did decide to let me in!

Everyone has made some really good points here, but we all know we can't please everyone!!

If we go with the Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy theme there will definitely be a mandatory "something" that has to be included in the render in order for it to be judged. I'll get with @Warrant63 now that I'm back and we can discuss it. @Frank22 maybe we could get together on Discord with Warrant and have a debate! 😛

The site currently has no way to link images other than with a text URL paste so I guess that we'll have for wait for that to be fixed before any comp starts. Note there are no icons for inserting images within posts. I'm just happy it's not taking so long to connect here. Be thankful for small mercies.

Well I suppose we could wait till the Halloween Contest. 😛

Until the site is truly fixed we can't do much of anything. Seems like there a still quite a few problems that need to be ironed out. We just need to wait for Hunter to get it done. 🙂
