So every now and then I see a Poser item that says will not work in Daz. I've yet to download a Poser item that will not work in Daz. Have you had any Poser items not work?
April 2, 2018 at 2:19 PM #554903More like not tested in Daz or not support in Daz but I have never had a poser item that I could not make work in Daz. There have been some that need tweaking like a lot of tweaking. I have also had items that are made for Daz but don't work correctly with iray.
Honey Bolt was the last model I used that had problems in Daz.
April 2, 2018 at 4:52 PM #555034Same as Kooroe here.
I did used once an item made for Poser that wasn't really working properly in Daz.
It was a winter suit with some kind of layered fur texture on some parts. The items was uploading to the scene fine and all it's texture were ok, but the fur texture part were not displaying their layered bulk correctly. Had to tweak it and do something else for that part. The product DID specified that it was not tested for Daz and that the fur texture was not compatible with Daz Studio.

https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=91316April 2, 2018 at 5:28 PM #555070There have been some "Poser Only" poses for Dawn and Dusk that don't really work in Daz: their feet or hands get warped/mangled, and since neither are popular enough figures, there's no scripts to fix this.
And certain character morphs for those two don't work in Daz, either. Wish I could use Tempesta3D's characters in Daz, or Oriana for Dawn, but alas.
April 2, 2018 at 6:12 PM #555106Ok I guess its just not common. I used poser awhile back and now im using Daz. Most of my stuff was V4 a few V3 and it all works. I got copy of V1 from here and it loaded but with no texture. I havent messed with it other thsn seeing if it eould load.
April 2, 2018 at 8:40 PM #555214"Will not work in DAZ" is only valid for shaders, scripts, and some morph packages. As a rule of thumb, all Poser-optimized second-skin packs, like layered stockings, darkworld's second-skin outfits, will not work, out of the box, in DAZ. Same goes for most script-related packs, and, rarely, some poses. Clothes, and character packs, will work, even if they need a hands-on tampering with materials
April 2, 2018 at 9:21 PM #555238Actually, yes I have. The Doctors 5th wheel trailer over on Content Paradise is one I know of. I can load it into Studio, play around with it, change the textures, but if I try to render, then I get an error about texture/image out of range or something like that and Studio exits. I've even tried to import it's OBJ stright into Studio with the same results.
April 2, 2018 at 10:07 PM #555300Weird. Changing textures and still texture error.
Tried shaders?
April 3, 2018 at 12:50 AM #555439there is some poser stuff that wont work in Daz and it does not matter what you do I think like the mc6 files if I remember correct.
April 3, 2018 at 1:33 AM #555479Yes, I've tried using shaders. It's in the OBJ itself. Part of the mapping. Some part is pointing outside of the texture image boundry or something along those lines. Whatever it is Poser itself seems able to handle and correct but Studio can not.
I had a couple of other items has well that would not work, some fish tanks. I had to copy a couple of basic primitives that came with Poser over into the Runtime they was installed in before they would work.
April 3, 2018 at 3:05 AM #555551I mostly wanted a few items in a store that were listed as Poser only. They arent cheap either so I dont think its worth the risk. Ive had good luck so far but it could run out.
April 3, 2018 at 5:33 AM #555636Most of the time I've seen items not work is when there is scripting involved somewhere in the product, as it calls upon a poser specific task. As for geometries and textures, they usually work you just have to know where poser items are kept. Poses for textures for instance, that always threw me off when i made the switch from poser to daz. Maybe you could install poser, open them item then export it? If that is an option.
April 3, 2018 at 6:28 AM #555687I havent purchased them yet. They are listed as not for Daz. Its not a huge deal though.
ive got tons of stuff to keep me busy. 😉April 3, 2018 at 2:57 PM #556115in regards to the obj.UV-mapping, if you have hexagon, or blender, you can re-draw the seams, and recreate the UV-mapping, making the raw geometry DAZ friendly.
April 4, 2018 at 8:45 PM #557701I have Hexagon but I need to install it. I have Lightwave installed and imported it into it. I then re-did a lot of the grouping and brook the mesh down. There was several other flaws with the mesh that I did not like. The Slide outs did not slide in and out, their was no rear jacks, the door pivet/hinge was out of alignment with the door frame. A few other things has well. All that is fix now but I must have done something wrong when I exported it back out because I still get the same error using the re-done mesh. <sighs> I need to go back and redo it again, see if this time I can get the UV mapping fixed has well.
