    Anyone know what kind of drill bit the second one from the drill is? I've never seen anything like that.
    Thanks for enlightenment!

    Up-cut router bit. So not a drill bit at all. If you look at the rest of the bits in the image, they all have different shanks (including one with a taper) and several of them look too big to fit the chuck of the B&D drill.

    One of the cases that shocked me the most was this replica of "Gaulino", a chair "a mix between Gaudí and Carlo Mollino", the work of Oscar Tusquets (Architect and industrial designer...)
    The fact is that I know Oscar personally, and I sent him an e-mail about the replica in Daz3D...
    Almost literally, he replied that he didn't care too much: He (Oscar ..) earned a lot of money with his different jobs. "I don't think this boy earns more than to live for a month for having the good taste of replicating one of my works... I can forgive him...".
    Well ..: It was his decision, and I respect it.
    But the vast majority of "replicas" are licensed.
    For example, making a "Star Wars costume for Daz3d or other software", whose franchise Disney acquired, is a globally recognized crime...
    But, they are tolerant, there they are....

    Gaulino

    Oscar also offers his "Gaulino" in 3ds, Step, Obj and SKP formats... It's his own choice...

    But, And indeed, DAZ3D no longer sells that...because is a plagiarism!!!

    Bad for Gaulino that Daz3D removed it. From my point of view this was free advertising for Gaulino and if some people like the 3d model they might also buy the real chair.
    Or vice versa, people who own special chairs may want exactly the same chairs in Daz (luckily there is now software to scan models and textures). It's not that one or the other party loses money unless the copyright holder plans to sell also 3d models.

    I really wish I could afford products from Turbosquid. I love the furniture; especially from the Baroque era. Daz and Rendo have very few props from that historical period. Turbosquid has a lot of niche products whereas Daz and Rendo tend to cater to whatever is popular.

    At https://dimensiva.com you can find hundreds of branded models from Apple to Zone Denmark.
    I don't think it's illegal.

    @reinecarola, I also love this old furniture and architecture. I found lots of this stuff in trashy pirate sites and have downloaded a LOT of it. Unfortunately it's mostly unusable. It looks like the stuff was badly ripped from 3DSMax files in Asian digital sweatshops. All file names for textures and maps are in Chinese and none of the internal links work. Further, all models are one huge mesh with no individual pieces. I started working on one bedroom that was gorgeous but eventually gave up, it was a mess.

    Totally exhausting!!! I'm a uk citizen. I'm tired of having to kitbash my arse off. Or learn how to convert modded gta models or such just to get a decent amount of uk police Apparel. 100£ plus for a decent British police custodian helmet? They are paid in benefits. Not wages as they are public servants. It literally disgusts me. I've been at this malarkey about 20 years. I should be able to model by now. Cos it just effin sucks. Only half decent models out there are just iclone sub par rip offs. Which I'm about to download and convert. But by the time I do. And Brush them up. I'll be too fed up with life to give them back to the community. I dont want another sex dungeon. Or every concievable helmet. Other than a genuine non sh*t custodian helmet... Unless you want to pay huge its a joke. Its UK POLICE It should be free under commons license. All these amazing artists. Super real photorealism. But only ever make female cops as sexy or unzipped body armour to reveal breasts. Always a prerequisite when being shot at. It's really hit my nerve today.

    @ethiopia Yeah; I've tried to do the same and the end results were terrible. I know that sites like Turbosquid are geared towards professionals, and I understand the thinking behind the pricing, but I wish more niche products were available at Daz. Some PAs do make good products but a lot of them get the historical era wrong. For example; there are so many products labelled ''medieval'' when the designs are really a mismatch of Renaissance and Elizabethan. Another thing they tend to do at Daz is to cater to fans of whatever ''the current thing'' is. Remember back when Game of Thrones was at the height of its popularity and every other item was GoT themed. Same with LotR and now I see that even ''current thing'' political and social movements are getting themed characters.

    @reinecarola, I can see why they market that way. Few people are interested in historical accuracy or certain era's. Our hobby is pretty niche anyway so catering to an even smaller segment wouldn't make economic sense.
    Back when poser was relatively new, there where lots of folks with their own sites making stuff for fun and they DID produce a lot of niche items. Daz, out of greed, dropped the ball on this.

    @SkippyTheMeh
    , In a neat coincidence, I bought a large collection of Dremel bits and a top of the line Dremel tool in a yard sale yesterday. While digging through the boxes of bits, cutters, polishers, scribers, burrs and drill bits, I came across several of those funny drill bits. I can see how they'd work in a router although the cutting edge is on the bottom of the flutes. This would push material down as it cut. This makes sense as it would keep the work surface clear of debris.
    Thanks for this bit of technical know-how. Now I know how too!

    @Ethiopia, technically they're milling bits. Designed to cut a flat face across the horizontal surface of an object with (usually) very shallow depths of cut. If you want to know more than you ever wanted to about milling and machining in general, have a look at This Old Tony on YouTube for some hot metal on metal grinding action!

    to be fair, pepsi produces also cola (the product). coke is the competing company, which is different from cola (produced by both companies and other competitors).

    @Huxley

    It's a bit late, but how about this one for a helmet:

    https://www.sharecg.com/v/93340/browse/11/Poser/

    I can't say how accurate the helmet actually, is, though.

    I personally bought only *once* from Turbosquid, years ago. It was a hawaiian lei, somehow an item largely overlooked in all the other shops. Once, there was a a lei made at Rosity I think, part of a hula dance outfit, but it wasn't much of a progress: it bent horribly.
    Aside from that, I don't see myself paying 20 bucks for a model of an electric screwdriver. I'd feel that I'm the one beinb screwed.
