I notice on some of the downloads it mentions Blender as a requirement. I've looked at their website and a couple of articles, but it seems to me that it just does the same thing as Daz3D already does.
I've only been using Daz3D for 6 months or so and am still very much a newbie. I'm very happy with the picture quality I get from using just normal lray, but I was wondering if I use Blender will they suddenly look amazingly better or is Blender simply another type of Daz3D?
December 5, 2021 at 10:03 AM #1754824Blender is a free 3d app\software where you can create almost 3d related stuff from scratch. Its quite a powerful app and very handy. There are tons of tutorial about it on web or youtube.
CheersDecember 5, 2021 at 12:05 PM #1754882Blender can do 3D modelling contrary to DS and many daz PAs use blender to create assets. And it can also do posing, animations, rendering, etc like DS.
Blender is generally supposed to be more powerful than daz, but less user friendly. And daz has some unique assets but most can be exported to blender.
Both are free, but blender is open source.December 5, 2021 at 12:13 PM #1754890@scipio32 Go to YouTube and watch some videos. There are tons for Blender.
BUT, if you just want to make some renders as a hobby, stick to DAZ.
If you want to become a content creator, Blender is a good option since it's free.
December 5, 2021 at 8:47 PM #1755015Blender is awesome you can use the daz bridge to take daz to blender I use blender and cinema 4d if you 3d print you can bring the stl files into blender and check them out.
I buy the plugins for blender they are low cost and so far good.
Youtube is a great source for blender tutorials as everyone has said.
Best thing is it's Free.December 6, 2021 at 9:51 AM #1755245Thanks a lot for the replies guys that has made everything much clearer, I'll definitely give it a go and see how I get on with it, thank you all 🙂

December 7, 2021 at 2:34 PM #1755604+1 for the Diffeomorphic importer. I use it pretty much daily and it takes most of the headaches out of getting scenes and figures etc out of Daz and into Blender.
