Medusa - "... he might get a few points yes but probably just some to fill he's wishes amongst some older shared stuff."
All the stuff shared is the same price for everyone, old and new, apart from the requests. That's why I'm suggesting that at least some points be given to casual members who, for whatever reason, can't or are not interested in sharing content. By reducing the login points it would make harvesting less worthwhile and would throw a bone these members who only DL from time to time.November 7, 2024 at 12:57 AM #2100916I think the issue is mainly that there seems to be some with multiple accounts so it's not just getting 100 points a day for them, it could be thousands of points every day.
November 7, 2024 at 1:25 AM #2100921"Frankly, I've earned more points by taking part in a competition..."
Haven't seen you enter any competitions since I've been here mate. You say your points are zero but you're still hanging around?November 7, 2024 at 4:34 AM #2100942Ive been a member for a long time.
I currently have 7,500 point. Those are from a contest and daily log ins.
I just gave away 6000 points.
Other than my post a few weeks ago ive not shared in probably a couple years.I am for removing daily points.
I am not for point expiring.I am for more mod and owner interaction with members rather than just cleaning the bathroom then going home.
If it wasn't for members there is no site. A wonderful store without customers will go bankrupt. A bank that doesn't offer an incentive to deposit your money isn't much of a bank. A community isnt 3 guys swapping GF pics.
Theres plenty of room for hypocrisy here including myself. You're either part of something or you aren't. My contribution ATM is bothering people. Im just not as good at it as some others.
November 7, 2024 at 12:02 PM #2101002Regarding cleaning the bathrooms, do you........
November 7, 2024 at 4:14 PM #2101052In regards to my home, as a job or a hobby?
November 7, 2024 at 6:28 PM #2101076Note - I didn't make three consecutive posts above. It appears that Larry has left the building, perhaps the planet.
November 7, 2024 at 6:57 PM #2101079You may have uncovered a spy (Rendo, Daz, RH?) trying to gain our trust and become one of the in crowd. Good thing we have the secret handshake.

@frank22 a tragic loss I'm sure...
Anyway...
November 7, 2024 at 8:13 PM #2101087Some of us have been here since the beginning of this site. I personally starting coming here in the 2nd or 3rd month of its creation, though I believe I used a different username/email then. So quite a few years. I've seen many members come and go, some with quite a bit of snark. It truly just amuses me as an old timer.
You are always going to have people from different sites or vendors coming to try and disrupt things or try and exploit things like the point system. It's always a bit of a balancing act.
But if you don't encourage new members to join and share than the site is at risk of dying. I've seen it happen too often in the last 25 years. Too many sharing sites gone entirely or severely reduced.
I now go back to my lurking, lol.
November 7, 2024 at 8:33 PM #2101090Agreed Corissa, that's why I suggested the 20 daily points thing.... enough to entice new members who may eventually contribute, but low enough to discourage points cheating. It is indeed a delicate balancing act.
November 7, 2024 at 9:35 PM #2101094Hi Medusa, I don't think that deleting comments helps with privacy that much and as you say user records are kept, but they have to because of the points/rank system. I'd be happy to delete all my points and shares but I use the points for the art competitions. I haven't DL anything for nearly 2 years.
November 7, 2024 at 10:16 PM #2101100If they could, deleting point records older than 180 days would be great.
November 7, 2024 at 10:20 PM #2101101About cleaning the bathrooms.....windows also?
November 7, 2024 at 10:28 PM #2101102I could say "that's women's work" Anna but I don't want to die just yet🙂 . -
