I see today that both lilflame and Sveva after their move to Daz have also shifted to the "dark Side' and have both released G9 only items.
I tried yet again to work with G9 after the rendo exodus began and after a week of effort the best use I could find for it was a Teddy bear as a prop in another picture...
I am left wondering where to now? what to move on to?IMO, it is a fair bet their G8 items will still get released at 'Rosity.
There are still plenty of vendors supporting G8F & they need to be encouraged.
It is very predictable that Daz will supress G8 content, so buy from elsewhere.
I'm sure Daz has "incentives" in place for PAs to produce a certain percent of G9 content, probably because G9 isn't selling as anticipated. I gave up on G9 shortly after trying it and encountering numerous problems with the body and material set-up.
Lets hope the PAs who moved haven't completely abandoned pre-G9 content but perhaps that's what is happening.
They do have to make a living I guess.
I would say it's because they can re-sell all the G8 stuff over again for G9. Half the stuff for G9 is just a rehash of what's already available for G8 and often worse.... look at the store.
Thats the current way. Why make something original when you can just copy it and make a worse version.
Amen Adam. And the same obviously goes for the Hollywood film industry with a few very rare exceptions. Recycling is not always a good concept.
As long as there's money to be made, G8 will not disappear. **Someone** will always be there to capitalize on that, you can count on it.
It might not be the artist you prefer, but if people are buying, people will be creating.

They care because they are pushing the new 'Ooh look, bling shiny' all the time, and milking the cash cow.
Their rabid marketing folk can't help themselves. I get 3 promo emails from them a day on average & very seldom do I buy from that store.
There is always 'Buy this to get a discount on that!'

In relation to my Hollywood comment above, I did actually enjoy Abigail (2024). Unfortunately I could only DL a Russian language version and my Russian is rotten.
I think a better term to describe would be Planned Obsolescence. In the grand scheme of things, its probably Daz's mission to indoctrinate popular G8 PAs to adopt G9.
@sandeep My sentiments exactly. If G9 doesn't work or sell they will make it work or sell. It's DAZ/Tafi's mo for years now, and with G9 such an overcommitment this time they've really screwed themselves. G8 assets are not only suppressed on the site, they're disappearing. Whether behind the scenes deleted, or behind the scenes politicized argued about and defended with PAs pulling or leaving from exhaustion and frustration, it all has the same effect: "G9 great, buy G9". DAZ happy, customer stuck. Grunt grunt.
Only recourse for G8 contributing PAs is third party or self-promotional sites and sales.
And with the DS model entirely content-dependent, what that means for DAZ/Tafi Studio in the end looks about as pretty as a G9 bend morph.
