My understanding of how it works is that's not strictly the case. Not in the sense of the traditionally understood and current legal view of "ownership"..... "All copyright and other rights are reserved and not granted (transferred from the original owner).β
The NFT applies to only one image (in the case of art) so if it is slightly altered the NFT owner has no claim over any of those.
It's early days and legal cases and no doubt a string of very lengthy appeals processes are yet play out in the courts, like they inevitably will.
