    For the XWING Scene.

@ladyburger, no. Iray Uber Base Shader, plus emmissive, then bloom.

Afterburners are a stretched Sphere and Elongated thin Cone. Apply IRAY Uber Base, then Emissive (probably just need emmisive, but i saw one tutorial where every object they bring in, they apply the uber base, doesn't change the current object settings, but adds IRAY UBER settings)

    Surface Tab of Afterburners:
    Emission Settings:
    Emission Temp: 2900.0
    Luminance: 50000.0
    Luminance Units: kcd/m^2
    Glossy Layered Wegith: 0.00
    Emission Color: RGB# 256 128 64 (orange)
    Base Color: RGB# 255 255 255 (white)

    Rendering Tab: Bloom settings:
    Filter Radius: .020
    Bloom Filter Threshhold: 25000.0
    Bloom Filter Brightness Scale: 0.75
    Exposure Value: 10.00
    Shutter Speed (1/x): 16.00
    Spectral Conversion Intent: Natural
    Spectral Observer: cie1964
    Environment Mode: Scene Only
    Environment Intensity: 0.00

Surface Tab: Light Sphere: (MY SUN)
IRAY Emission Shader added from DAZ Uber Shaders
Really far away, like really far, adjust as needed.
    size 50 meters
more segments and sides more diffuse shadowing (up to a certain point)
    Glossy Layered Weight: 0.00
    Temperature 8500
    Luminance: 35000000.0

Try those and see if you can reproduce at some time, for sabres, just tweak the settings and get an idea of what does what.

Paramenters of Sun: Physics of Light Object:
To give you an idea of how far a way it is:
    X Translate: -513315.56
    Y Translate: 159544.09
    Z Translate: -503614.69

    Camera Settings:
HeadLamp OFF (If you have scene lights on in viewport, then. CTRL-L to toggle. everything should be black (except environment background)

Threshhold take us to the Threshhold: It's the important part of bloom, higher the value, brighter an object must be to be affected by bloom.

LOL! I wanted to add some humor to this thread. All this rendering is getting too serious 😀

well you get to laugh at my poorly done light sabre 🙂

used daz primitives with a short trip through some quick and dirty zbrush morphing
using double emmisives and bloom for the blade
I'll probably work on making a proper handle and blade at some point.

Ugh... eight hours of rendering and still grainy.

    Hopefully ya'll get the gist.

Blame the droid. Little bastard is a resource hog in every program I've stuck him in.

@littlesparrows The purple one is really great, I love it. When I grow up, I wanna do renders like this.

@robf4g210, I really liked Mara Jade in the books, your render does her justice.
