There is a LOT of lights in the scene and i really need to keep them all. this much light has almost wiped out all shadows but a few visible close to the camera.
Not sure mayde render with no shadows? But there is one area that needs a bit of shadow. Maybe ill try to post a low quality render and see what you think.March 16, 2018 at 1:59 PM #534187@yanmartyn - I haven't messed with them but DAZs Iray has a thing called 'canvases' which I believe are what you would use in other software to separate passes (shadows, z-depth, AO, etc) so there probably is a 'simple' but arcane way to do the same in DAZ, you know, if it had a manual covering its features like at all 😀
March 16, 2018 at 2:21 PM #534213No one has made an indepth manual for daz yet?
Hard to believe a product thats been out this long doesnt have a library of books.

Lights are usually my bane.
March 16, 2018 at 7:21 PM #534592Adam, that's the drawback of a free suite. But, considering how expensive the competition is, a free suite like this, with no manual, is far more lucrative than a hundreds of dollars suite with an entire tome as a manual.
Seriously, Poser's user's manual, if printed from its PDF format, is an entire tome.March 16, 2018 at 7:29 PM #534595Apart from that, they are constantly developing & updating DS so it wouldn't be worthwhile until they hit a 'finished product'......Which is likely to be never. 🙂
March 17, 2018 at 4:04 AM #535080Yes but out of all the users you would think someone would try to make a few $$ of the current build.
March 17, 2018 at 10:20 AM #535358Like eegloo said, there's no real point. Poser has had 4 main evolutions between 2009 and 2018. Poser 8/Pro 2010, Poser 9/Pro 2012, Poser 10/Pro 2014, and Poser 11/Pro 11.
D/Studio on the other hand has gone from 3.x (can't really remember the version of DAZ, when I first got Poser 8), to 4.10 now. And, more or less, 5 generations of base figures (6, if we count V3/M3 bases, that were still very much the norm, 9 years ago).
Trying to create, even sell, manuals for each new iteration of the system, considering the fact that, many of DAZ features, liek dynamic clothing support, were additional, sold separately, plug-ins, would be futile. By the time you'd finish dissecting the software, and write down what each function does, a new version would be out, that would render, at least a portion of that work, obsolete.March 18, 2018 at 4:58 PM #537098Looks great !
March 18, 2018 at 11:07 PM #537459I wanna go to this party!!!
Yeah, when i create groups and add my figures to turn them on and off, I'll find something to do for 5 minutes... totally hangs while its thinking. Daz should look into where those threads are going nutz
March 19, 2018 at 12:27 AM #537557Aftyr, it depends on your system RAM. 5 figures, with a series of 4000*4000 textures (around 12-15 per figure, if we count bump, specular, normal and displacement maps) plus clothing, plus props and scenery, can easily hog over 5 to 6 Gigs of RAM. In those cases, anything less than 8 Gigs WILL get your system to hang, while it uses the hard drive(s) as virtual memory.
