It was easily a year ago that we where talking about what happens when Daz, Rendo and all the other vendors go under for some reason. Folks said that the hobby will continue since Studio will still work. I mentioned that we (The Zone) would become the archive for all the content.
There's a purge starting with some evangelical group of self righteous nutcases getting on the credit card companies about 'inappropriate and illegal' content on various vendor's site. There isn't, but some of the vendors are knee-jerking and not just deleting a few images, they're wiping out some artists and their content. ND3D just disappeared from RenderHub and folks have started a screaming match, it's pretty funny.
It's neat that a pile of ND3D's content is here. Bet that'll bring a pile of traffic.Just my 2 cents on this matter.
What I find most worrying, is the fact, that they automatically assume, that those characters and the morphs are being used for child pornography. Coming to that conclusion without proof, tells me more about the one doing the accusations, then the one creating the models and morphs. And before you're going to lecture me and step on that soapbox, I am a woman, an old woman and a survivor myself. Usually the ones, who scream the loudest, have the most to hide. Most of these holier than thou figures have the most skeletons in their closet.
I got into an argument with a mod on the DAZ forums regarding what percentage of DAZ work is porn. I estimated at least 40%. She got offended and banned me. Whatever the percentage is, it's a lot.
That being said, selling kid characters with gens and gen mats is not going to fly on any public accessible site that relies on credit cards and/or are based in almost any country other than a handful of small island nations that are used for shelters of many nefarious activities. If I understand what the RH forum discussion is about, this seems to be the case with this creator.
A major point is that several folks mentioned that they didn't see anything creepy or illegal in any of ND3D's items. I wasn't familiar with his stuff so can't say. From the ferocity of some of the statements in the thread I can see that 'someone' complained to the staff and (of course) blew it waaaaay out of proportion, calling a visible shoulder or knee cap, 'kiddie porn'. I'll just bet that the person(s) is a member of one of those puritanical groups. They likely made threats about sending complaints to the credit card companies and of course, RenderHub made a knee-jerk reaction and banned ND3D.

This illustrates the tactics that these groups use. They use KP as an excuse to get everything they don't like (which is pretty much everything adult) banned and eliminated from the net.Yes, those of us that use Stable Diffusion ran into this about a month ago with CivitAI, which pulled all of it's 'celebrity' models first, then continued to pull what they considered to be the most 'egregious' nsfw checkpoints and loras next and are continuing to decimate the lora and model categories to this day. Other repositories such as TensorArt are following suit.
It may have started as a financial consideration with payment processors, but seems to be continuing due to fear of, not just civil legal issues (celebrity), but of government takedowns as well. The UK's Online Safety Act has instilled fear to the point of CivitAI not allowing any UK IPs to use their website, shutting out 1/3 of their traffic.
I'm in the U.S., but for those in the UK, a simple vpn workaround may not have the desired effect because Clouflare, which CivitAI uses, can still deduce your originating country.

Some people really need to have their internet revoked on a permanent base. Narrowminded, sad people, who grasp any thin straw and make it fit their narrative.
i knew something looked off with ND3D... like they were all models of children and young teens. but what i didn't know until i looked at the models, is that THEY ALL HAD NSFW MATERIAL!!!

I always find this statement interesting. Like within a group of people that care there cant be anyone who is actually genuine. Personally I'm fine with the castration of any sick fk who harms a child. If you feel that makes me a Chester then perhaps its the people who accept "morality is based on perception" are the ones who are trying to sweep something under the carpet. I literally had similar discussion about movies with someone. He said all movies are good because its based on the perspective of the viewer. Never heard such a mouth full of shit in my life. If you doubt this kind of stuff is happening there is actually one of these self confirmed people lurking here that occasionally pops up to make a comment. "In My" dealing with people, its usually the ones who dont stand up for anything or attempt to justify their rights to whatever deviant behavior they choose to support.
Don't get me wrong, I don't condone violence towards a person, whether they're man, woman or child, in any way, shape or form.
I just don't see the proof of this child abuse in this person's characters. We're all born with genitals, no denying that. From what I could see, his/her characters were always fully clothed, no nudity in the promo images. What others do with his/her creations is not his/her responsibility. That's what triggered my response. the fact, that without proof a person is getting banned, because others make something, that is completely normal, dirty.
As for the phrase you quoted, what comes to mind are priests and other clergy people, yelling fire and brimstone, while molesting children. People screaming gay people are sick people, while in private jerking off to 2 women having sex. The millions of men that got away with rape, because their victim "was asking for it".

Don't worry, we have those folks right here on the forum, they complain about nudity or whatever.... Ironically, they have no problem stealing intellectual property, they just don't want to see a nipple while doing it.
Its the credit card companies. The same credit card companies shut down processing credit card payments for gun sales, donating to conservative causes via crowd funding, NSFW art, porn websites etc etc...
Its probably the same folks that wanted you to get fired for not getting a covid shot.

There are people who have been arrested for multiple assaults allowed to walk the streets and others serving time for smoking a joint. There are countries where people are still treated as property or even less. There is an occasional light that shines bright enough to give me hope but its usually drowned out whenever I watch the news.IF the question even had to be asked is this possibly to risque for a child then it probably was.

Sadly, it won't be the end of this ordeal. My guess is, that it will get much worse. Never understood, why people take it upon themselves to force their beliefs on others.
There is zero need for a 3D child character to have genitals. The fact that mammals are born with genitalia is a poor justification and really beside the point.
I don't create NSFW images myself, because I have no interest in it. However, I don't give a fk what type of content is created with adult characters. I don't care if Busty Bella is being schtupped by Otto the the octopus/human hybrid from outer space. Not my thing; but do you, boo.
Though PAs will not expressly say it, the demand for adult content is the reason why they sculpt genitals for 3D characters in the first place. If it were not for the NSFW stuff, there is no reason why a 3D model should have genitals. There is no other context for it. Therefore, there is no innocent reason to sculpt genitalia for child characters. If you have innocent intent, then you're not going to want genitals on a child character.
As I said; I don't care if people create adult stuff with adult characters, all day every day and twice on Sunday. But, to use child characters as a proxy by which one might indulge their own twisted fantasies is a bridge too far.
It's not just starting @supreme-leech it's been going on forever. Laws don't change people's behaviour, it just criminalises and punishes it and they'll just keep doing it anyway. War on Drugs, War on Crime, War on Drink Driving - virtue signaling and moral panic solves nothing, least of all human behaviour.
@frank22, I hadn't intended for this to become a discussion on morals and authority. All I wanted to remind folks was about the prediction of us becoming the archive of Daz products. Initially I assumed that Daz/Rendo/'Otica and RenderHub would go under for some reason, AI maybe? Instead its the war on porn (or perceived porn) that's driving a lot of stuff underground. When RH kicked ND3D out, I'll bet I wasn't the only one who grabbed all of his characters. I have no interest in them but I like to think I'm providing a service by sequestering them on my offline backup. Kind of like the Internet Archive or WayBack Machine.
Maybe The Zone should rebrand itself?
