RSSY Clothing Converter From Victoria 4 To Genesis 8 Female

I specifically have the SQL CMS uninstalled and disabled. Is there really no way to run this plugin without it?

I turned it off out of fear that Daz will see I downloaded it "illicitly".

You can safely install it. That SQL CMS is local to your PC and unless you log in to Daz via Studio there's not a chance they can see anything. Even if you do log in I somehow doubt they're spying on users. Imagine how much data there would be!

Looking at the description of the script it says "Plus, all materials shown in Smart Content for your Victoria 4 item will show for your converted Genesis 8 Female item." That's why it needs access to the CMS - to create a new set of metadata.

Is it actually an error message or just a warning? If the latter it might just be telling you that the Smart Content entry wasn't made but the conversion was done anyway. If I were to place a bet on it, I'd say the script probably exits at that point and doesn't do the conversion but you are at no risk installing the CMS if you really want to use the product.

    >Is it actually an error message or just a warning?

It says "The content management/smart content has to be installed and working to use the script"

    > but you are at no risk installing the CMS if you really want to use the product.

Thanks. But I'm still not quite sure about installing it. Sounds sort of iffy.

Then nothing I can do will convince you! It's a database that can be run across networks that actually, in this case, just runs on your PC. It's an odd solution but it's how Daz builds the Smart Content for Studio. It can not, and does not, shout 'look here, pirated content!', to Daz.

Even if it could or did, can they pin it on you, John Doe? No. the account you buy Daz content from could be completely different from the account that runs Studio and you don't have to log in to run Studio anyway.

You could disconnect your internet when running the script but you might be wondering if it gets logged and uploaded when you reconnect. It does not. It's your PC, your stuff, do what you want with it, but it sounds to me like you made up your mind before you posted this.

Why not ask around and see if anyone running the CMS has had their content 'mysteriously deleted' or had a lawyer's letter land on their doorstep. You'll find no-one but, at the end of the day, it's entirely up to you. I don't blame you for being cautious, but the Deep State is not after your Daz content 🙂

TBH I find SMART content of no use whatsoever. I don't even bother with metadata.

I always manual install & ensure I have a strict naming regime ( unlike most vendors! ;0/ )

    🙂

    What eelgoo said.

I sent the OP a PM about good firewall practices since filling this thread with the information would send us all to sleep.

Thanks, I actually have Norton. But I guess I'll go ahead and enable CMS.
