I am way too lazy to add anything to files personally. I just change how I share altogether. Posting it openly when I am ready and reducing all private shares to a minimum.
August 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM #702151I've never changed files that I've uploaded here. I don't plan on it either. I was just putting some options out there for people who feel the need to do it 🙂
August 3, 2018 at 7:22 PM #702173As usual its the 1% of untrust worthy people that ruins it for the 99%.
When that 1% is part of the 1% that shares then its an even greater impact.
August 3, 2018 at 8:03 PM #702216Does it suck when people betray your trust? Of course it does. Should you expect people to betray your trust? See, that is a completely different discussion.
If they're personal, real life friends, I'd say "no, you should not". If they're anonymous, online "friends", whom you've never met, nor know anything about, the chances increase exponentially.
While I do understand the need to try and catch whomever is breeching whatever rules you've put in place for sharing stuff elsewhere, I do NOT get the "let's just fuck this content up for everyone that perhaps download it later on". There are so many ways you can "tag" files that doesn't ruin it for others.
There has been talk of respect and stuff in this thread - and I do agree. You should respect others, but you cannot, and should not, expect others to keep "your" items private, as long as they're not a personal project or anything you have made personally. If you share a public item for free, expect it to be shared further. That's how it works. You can of course ask that they let you share it here, for instance, yourself - and most of the time, they will let you do that. But getting butthurt if they don't... and then again, ruining it for everyone else, is just annoying.
And, instead of one person's uploads here now being shunned, we have two people's uploads being shunned. Which isn't beneficial for anyone, really.
August 4, 2018 at 4:04 AM #702618My uploads here are not being shunned, because nothing I have posted here has been tampered with. And once again, the person who shared it ruined it. Take the blame game and put it back on the snake in the grass, they shared it, not me. I share here knowing that it will be shared every where so no point in me ruining it for people to pay me points for some thing, but if some one else does it for the points, that is back at them for doing it in the first place.
