This looks like a handy script.
Am I correct in thinking it is able to cut mesh, to make a functional buckle, because that is what is inferred in one of the promos?
🙂
July 13, 2026 at 10:26 AM #2180134Do you mean the item being sold by heiwa-interactive-arts on RenderHUb?
July 13, 2026 at 11:34 AM #2180138Gotta a link? I haven't seen anything about it and the google isn't finding anything either.
July 13, 2026 at 11:44 AM #2180139It's this item,
https://www.renderhub.com/heiwa-interactive-arts/sculpttool-for-daz3d
This creator is also on Rendo and will be selling the item there soon.
https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/vendors/Heiwa_Interactive_ArtsI have a BIG problem with RH because of what's presently going on and will wait for the tool to show up on Rendo to buy it.
This is an excellent tool and she/he deserves our support for making something that Daz has locked behind their premium paywall.July 14, 2026 at 10:38 AM #2180259So has anyone got to grips with this yet?
Or even any answer to my question? :0/
July 14, 2026 at 1:08 PM #2180268I haven't had time to mess with this yet, I'm curious about your question as well. I use 4.24.0.3 and it isn't listed as compatible unless "4.x" means that it is.
I have mesh grabber installed and I use it occasionally to fix dForce clothing, I'm not sure that there's much of a difference beyond having a useful tool window.
July 14, 2026 at 1:17 PM #2180269That means it should work on all DS4 iterations.
July 14, 2026 at 1:24 PM #2180270Just checking it out now, it does work for 4.24! Looks very nice so far, interface is easy to navigate and it appears there are quite a few options like symmetry etc. Very cool plugin, I'll purchase and support this one. It has more features than mesh grabber from what I can tell.
I'll look and see if I can disconnect parts of a mesh, just a min.
EDIT: I don't see an option nor info in the readme on "cutting" meshes but I don't know. Another thing is that it can't do strand based dForce hair, the author says that daz doesn't expose those nodes to plugins etc.
July 14, 2026 at 1:48 PM #2180272It would be a real plus if it could.
A lot of extra functionality could be added to items.
For example, functional buttons, buckles & zips.
July 14, 2026 at 2:13 PM #2180273I'll mess with this some more later and see if I can't find a way to do that.
I'm finding it more useful than mesh grabber, it does appear to have at least the same features and more. You can use the lasso to select specific vertices then switch to another tool like "grab" and it will only effect the area within those vertices given the brush size.
July 14, 2026 at 2:24 PM #2180274That sounds more user friendly than Mesh Grabber.
July 14, 2026 at 4:35 PM #2180279I don't use mesh grabber that often but I can already tell that it is, definitely added to my "must have installed" list.
July 14, 2026 at 5:08 PM #2180283If this is half as useful as they claim for doing jcms I'll happily pay full price and more! When they list it somewhere that isn't RH at least...
July 14, 2026 at 5:26 PM #2180284@radiationking, The author has uploaded it to Rendo and once it's approved (could be a couple of weeks) it'll be for sale there. I'm chomping at the bit to buy this and support the author.
July 14, 2026 at 6:39 PM #2180290Never mind. Heiwa tells me it is not MacOS compatible. And there are no plans for a Mac version.
The overview mentions "Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit", but then says it hasn't been tested on MacOS or Linux. My confusion: If it only works in Windows, why would it be tested on MacOS or Linux?More to the point, does anyone know if it works at all on MacOS? -
