"PCs are outdate every time a new game comes out, every time a new graphics card is released, ect… Shelf life of a computer in Japan is probably a month. Dunno never been."

Lawl. That's is not true at all. Unlike consoles, PC users have the ability to adjust the graphics settings to accommodate even shit old hardware. Even so, consoles release with the hardware comparable to multiple years old walmart eMachine PC. So not sure why the outdated argument is being brought up against PCs. It's so easy to match console performance with a budget PC parts.

But hey if technology has the self-life of a banana, then consoles would have been a rotten banana with mold and gnats on it right out of the box day 1.

Exactly. It's all entirely subjective. For me being as this is 2018 and I have top end hardware, have to play my 3D games not in MS powerpoint mode of 29fps. It feels terrible, controls terrible, hurts my eyes due to the blur fest of it not being able to handle the motion.

It's not eliist. It's just fact of life now that 29-30fps is pure trash once you go to proper fps levels.

So you're tellin me if I took $4000 to buy a system 18 moths ago, I could not buy a better system today.

The Laptop I purchases 2 years ago will run better than one o could buy today at the same price point.

Games released a year ago will hold up to games released next year?

Possibly with a few exceptions but overall I find that a difficult pill to swallow.

I see your elitism creeping into your post again

"Since 1927, the standard frame rate for film has been 24 fps (frames per second). For TV the standard is 30 fps for NTSC (National Television System Committee – the system used in North America, Japan and many other areas around the world), 25 fps for PAL (Phase Alternating Line – the system used in Europe, parts of Africa and SE Asia).

Ive had a headache for over 40 years.

So you won't be able to play current and old games, because your machine is 18 months old? You can't read and adjust the graphics settings in-game to adjust to whatever target you want to hit?

Do you know why they do that? It saves lots and lots of money. However, do you see how it's a blurry god damn mess. You know those scenes where they try to pane slowly and you can't see jack shit, because it's a blur -----> Welcome to what 30fps gaming is like.

Once you game above 60fps, you can see clearly now the rain is gone.

I care more about the FPS than maxing all graphics settings. I will routinely drop all in-game graphics settings down to hit +120fps stable.

Only console users who don't understand computers think you have to buy a new GPU every six months.

Im an elitist. I need my graphics maxed. Why would i want cartoons at 120fps is ridiculous.

The elitist kids of 2100 will wonder how they did without their holo-decks and laugh at todays systems.

    Weres my 98 emulator?

Run my competitive shooters at nearly low settings to hit 165fps. Looks so clear and plays so smooth.

All this shouting of elitism sounds like you guys have never even used a monitor with a refresh rate over 60hz. I mean you can literally see the difference instantly just moving your mouse around the desktop. You can move the mouse and it doesn't blur. Amazing... Imagine being able to rapidly aim in a video game and not have the thing become a blur.

Ive seen options on games to add motion blur. Guess some people lile that sorta thing.

Im not just going to hate on a game for not confirming to what might be considered cutting edge. Red Dead 2 once ported to PC will probably be modded my elitists to surpass what rockstar did. Im guessing they dumbed it down a bit to allow more people to play on older systems. Someone running a sream machine with time on their hands will post 4k SS that look real. Possibly nude women that look like G8. Ive seen amazing ports of poser women into games.

However as much as I enjoy great graphics i dont require them.
Id rather watch a great movie with no cgi or gas explosions that a crap fest with 200 million on special effects.

Not a console kiddie myself. Just prefer the pc for gaming, unlimited saves, hardware I already use for other things. But I also know friends that use consoles and have a blast with them.

I will stick to what I prefer and if a game is released that looks interesting but is not for pc I am happy that is the price I pay for my chosen game system.

I don't think any system is better than another. PC may have better hardware but comes with the inherent bugs of so many hardware configurations and drivers. Console may be inferior performance wise but most games play right out of the box and are easy to use.

That's my 2 cents worth but to be honest I miss playing games on the arcade machines when my girlfriend worked at he local arcade and gave me free credits.

    SDL.
